Dan_Utd --Yes i know he talked of leaving , but if i am not mistaken he always signed the contract or showed his intention of continuing only after he was sure Barca had won or wrapped up the league. Just my personal opinion on his "longevity" as a manager. If he is to take a break every now and then it won't look good on him will it ,he said that Managing Barca took a lot out of him--- arguably the best players or bunch and hr found it hard ( know a lot might come after me for this) then what about Jose, SAF , Moyes its not like they have had it easy .. Just saying cos he will be one of those who will be talked about as replacing SAF when he retires and I'd Want someone who provides a stable long run.

The thing with Pep is, he's damned if he does damned if he doesn't.
A) Stays at Barcelona - This board: Awww, he's only winning things because of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta. Shit in the transfer market blah blah blah!
B) Leaves Barca - This board: He's shit, couldn't handle the big job. Mentally drained blah blah blah!
End of the day Guardiola has nothing to prove to anyone but himself. If he felt it was better to step aside rather than let complacency set in, then good for him.

Well Pep Could have killed two birds in one stone by moving onto manage a new team , new challenge ,new league( Hopefully not Chelsea/City) instead of taking a break, Tatty.
It has got nothing to do with him proving ,he has done at the top level no doubt ,but what would we say or feel if he left us like that. I for one wouldn't like or want it and that's what i was coming to.

Taken from a skysports article about kagawa mentions that fletch lives
The Red Devils are at the same time supplying three players to England's European Under-19 Championship quest, while Nemanja Vidic and Chris Smalling will not be considered due to injury and Darren Fletcher is set to begin the first tentative stages of his comeback from a chronic bowel complaint.
hope he can come back Fletch lives

We need a Sweinsteiger ahead of a Moutinho all day long, big Bastian wouldnt take any shit from Yaya, now that would be a fantastic signing but it will never happen. He has recently signed a new contract at BM and they would loath to sell their Star CM to anyone.
Adam Johnson is lazy and inconsistant, thats why Mankini doesnt play him.

Schweinsteiger, good but over rated. I'll take the guy who did the business against Spain for 120mins than the guy who was anonymous against the Italians and the Chavs to lesser extent. when I've seen him he doesnt look like a player that grabs hold of the scruff of the neck, he looks good when the going is good. A talented player no doubt, but not the top bracket of players that some put him in.
Anyway beyond our opinions, he'd cost a bomb, doesn't want to leave Bayern and hes 28 in a couple of weeks. Completely unrealistic.

True he wasnt at his best at the Euros but he is a very good player, though I agree totally unrealiistic just like De Rossi, who I rate as a better player than Sweiny. It is the type of player we should be looking at IMO, someone to dominate both physically and with technical ability.

I'd rate De Rossi higher but he's another that wont leave his home club and is the wrong age. Moutinho at 25 is the right age.

areba i agree with you on the type of player we need. on bastian he has had injuries this season and realistically should not have played in the euro's he was not fully fit.

I admire him even more for that, given Roma dont usually challenge and he would be welcomed to any club in Europe, even he he was available he has problems with his sciatic nerve, which would become another Hargreaves given our luck with crocks. Moutinho may be the right age but I dont think he is what we need, he is quite similar to Cleverley, plus he is a slimy cunt RE his transfer between Sporting and Porto, but thats just MO.

It annoys me when National sides do that to players, though he prob insisted on playing through.Do National FA`s cover a players full wage if injured on National duty? Not to mention the cost of replacing the player if its long term.

i dont think they do mate. bastian was rushed back by bayern and looked off the pace and from that really should not have played in the euro's so much. never looked fully fit or comfortable. as for moutinho i so agree with you, i mentioned earlier in the other thread he is like cleverly, just older, more experience and less injury prone. i really think the guy is talented and if we get the type of midfielder we need and still have money then this is an option that can be explored. i'd get a martinez/de rossi type and a left back before getting moutinho. even if we cant get those names then we need something similar, those type of players allow for us to see the best in the likes of moutinho, cleverly, scholes and that mould of player

Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder has revealed he does not know what the future holds as speculation increases over a potential move in the January transfer window.
The Holland international has found himself frozen out of the first team at the San Siro following a dispute over his contract.
Inter are keen to slash their wage bill and, after selling Julio Cesar, Lucio and Maicon over the summer they have turned their attentions to Sneijder, who is their top earner with reported wages of €6million per season.
The 28-year-old, whose contract runs until 2015, has been told he will not play for the club until he agrees a wage cut.
However, with that outcome looking increasingly unlikely, a January move may be on the cards instead.
Big spending Anzhi Makhachkala were linked with a move for the former Real Madrid man earlier this month, though those rumours were swiftly denied by the player's agent.
Premier League duo Manchester City and Manchester United have also held a long-standing interest, while German giants Bayern Munich, Turkish outfit Fenerbahce and former club Ajax have also been linked.
Speaking to supporters outside the club's training ground Sneijder insisted that he was happy at the club but cast doubt on whether he would be staying much longer.
"I am happy here, but I don't know what will happen," the midfielder was reported as saying.
