I take it back. I think this episode was more Game of Thrones than any in this season. Killing Missandei this way was great for fueling Grey Worm's and Dany's rage. Killing that second dragon was totally unexpected and awesome as well. I think I enjoyed this episode the most in this season.

Killing that second dragon was totally unexpected and awesome as well. I think I enjoyed this episode the most in this season. I loved it. As you say, it was proper Game of Thrones. Some weren't happy that we didn't get to see reactions from Arya and Sansa to Jon's lineage but it wasn't necessary IMO. The dragon death was brilliant and completely didn't see it coming. Missandei's death became apparent towards the end but they're doing it for the right reasons. I expect Dany to rain fire on King's Landing now because of it which will in part cement her Mad Queen persona. The classic Game of Thrones conversations between Tyrion and Varys. Varys is going to get himself killed. Enjoyed the scene with Bronn, the interactions between The Hound and both the Stark girls as well as Lord Gendry of Storm's end. The Hound and Jaime both back down South means we may get to see the 2 deaths I've wanted for a few seasons as well now. It was a great episode in it's own right but also great in setting up what's to come in the final 2. I would say my only gripe would still be that I still have no fucking clue what the point of Bran is anymore.

I didn't like Brienne being reduced to a sobbing mess after one night with Jamie. Get a fucking grip. But Euron was a sight for sore eyes, as was Qyburn. It also seems like they finally remembered that Varys was even on the bloody show. And he definitely will get himself killed. Thing is, I don't think I want anybody to be king. The whole point of breaking the wheel would be to get done with that iron throne. Maybe we will see that yet. A council of Lords, in a pseudo-democracy. I think Tyrion , Varys , Sansa, Jaime are primed to take on the roles on that hypothetical council.

Honestly don't know what we'll see at the end at this point. Be gobsmacked if it was Dany now, think she'll die. Jon is too obvious. I fully expect Cersei to die. I like your idea but I expect at least 2 of those to die (Varys and Jaime). I mean, if Jon doesn't want it, Dany dies and Cersei and Jaime both die, does that not make Tyrion the next in line on his own? He's probably the most fit to rule out of all of them in terms of what he has to offer.
On a separate issue. Does anyone think Dany may call on Daario Naharis and the Second Sons at some point? She's lost all her closest advisors and trusts him as much as anyone.

Brilliant episode, teeing it up nicely for the war to begin. Could see one of the dragons being killed when Jon went by horse instead, was always going to happen at some point. Either Grey worm or Missandei werent going to last after the talk about their future (that's always a sign one will snuff it), now we know which one which will fuel the fire that bit more.
Ties it nicely for the hound and the mountain to go at it aswell.
Brann is more of a bore than Sansa, most pointless character in the show now.

I heard GoT is shit ? Please tell me it isn't. No idea why people are so upset - I thought it was great. All the chatting in the first half, and the surprises in the second were class. Bit weird that Euron is so deadly with the launcher, but I guess if several of them shot at once it makes more sense.
My only complaint is that Jon didn't show Ghost affection. That was strange. I get they will say something like Ghost represents a part of him that he doesn't know how to deal with right now, but I think they just didn't want to spend the CGI budget on it.
Some people seem to think Jaime is going back to Cersei because he loves her which is weird. It seemed clear to me he was deliberately being mean to Brienne to make it easier to leave and potentially die killing Cersei.

Yeah I've seen a lot of comments like what you're talking about at the bottom. People saying he's undone all the good work by going back to Cersei. I mean he does love her, he always has but it's clear as day he's going back to try and stop her, which in turn will probably mean they both die.

Wow! That's pathetic. The fuckers had 2 years to put this together and nobody noticed that? Embarrassing.

There were a few bits that annoyed me, mostly roll on annoyance from the last episode. But it was mostly good.
I didn't like that Brienne survived the last episode only to end up crying like a bitch. I don't know why Pod is still around.
Bran served absolutely no purpose this episode.
I really hope that's not the last we've seen of Tormund and Sam. That would be a real anti-climax for both characters.
The writers obviously aren't do owners.
I loved the ending, though. That was better than either Grey Worm or Missandei dying at Winterfell. And I wonder how long it's going to take Euron to start wondering how Tyrion knew about Cersei's pregnancy...

I agree with the part about Tormund and Sam. Really shit way to end it for them if that's it. There's a few characters who are gonna have pretty shit non-eventful endings when you look at it right now.
