There were a few bits that annoyed me, mostly roll on annoyance from the last episode. But it was mostly good.
I didn't like that Brienne survived the last episode only to end up crying like a bitch. I don't know why Pod is still around.
Bran served absolutely no purpose this episode.
I really hope that's not the last we've seen of Tormund and Sam. That would be a real anti-climax for both characters.
The writers obviously aren't do owners.
I loved the ending, though. That was better than either Grey Worm or Missandei dying at Winterfell. And I wonder how long it's going to take Euron to start wondering how Tyrion knew about Cersei's pregnancy...
I agree with the part about Tormund and Sam. Really shit way to end it for them if that's it. There's a few characters who are gonna have pretty shit non-eventful endings when you look at it right now.
I cant see that being it for them or Ghost hopefully. Tormund was brilliant in this episode, be a shame of that's the end of these characters and we now have pointless ones like Brann left in it that seem to hold no relevance in it any longer.
The line "so which one of you cowards shit in my pants" was a highlight.
I reckon we'll see them all again in Winterfell after the last war.
Can also see either Jon or Danerys being killed as well. Cant see them both surviving this. Vaerys is fucked, he'll probably be killed in the next episode. Either way there's a lot to be squeezed into two more episodes, excited is an understatement just annoyed we've gotta wait another week now.

I feel Varys is about to turn the entire game on its head. Tyrion literally begging him not to get involved is interesting. It'll be his fault as he gave out the information about Jon's real parentage.
Sansa is a crafty devil nowadays. She really is the student of Littlefinger.

I liked this episode, sets up beautifully for the final war. I think Dany is gonna burn a lot of innocent people. I actually thought Cersei was going to attack Dany after killing Missandei when they had all the Archers and Ballistas.
I have to admit Cersei is the most intelligent character in the show right now.

Missendei definitely should have died. After abandoning the Unsullied and losing his love, Grey Worm would be totally un-hinged in the last few episodes. Making him the wildcard. Bit of a missed opportunity, imo to make him an intriguing chess piece late on. Hmmm

I loved it. As you say, it was proper Game of Thrones. Some weren't happy that we didn't get to see reactions from Arya and Sansa to Jon's lineage but it wasn't necessary IMO. The dragon death was brilliant and completely didn't see it coming. Missandei's death became apparent towards the end but they're doing it for the right reasons. I expect Dany to rain fire on King's Landing now because of it which will in part cement her Mad Queen persona. The classic Game of Thrones conversations between Tyrion and Varys. Varys is going to get himself killed. Enjoyed the scene with Bronn, the interactions between The Hound and both the Stark girls as well as Lord Gendry of Storm's end. The Hound and Jaime both back down South means we may get to see the 2 deaths I've wanted for a few seasons as well now. It was a great episode in it's own right but also great in setting up what's to come in the final 2. I would say my only gripe would still be that I still have no fucking clue what the point of Bran is anymore. Agree. Bran is just an ornament .
I didn't like Brienne being reduced to a sobbing mess after one night with Jamie. Get a fucking grip. But Euron was a sight for sore eyes, as was Qyburn. It also seems like they finally remembered that Varys was even on the bloody show. And he definitely will get himself killed. Thing is, I don't think I want anybody to be king. The whole point of breaking the wheel would be to get done with that iron throne. Maybe we will see that yet. A council of Lords, in a pseudo-democracy. I think Tyrion , Varys , Sansa, Jaime are primed to take on the roles on that hypothetical council. Was thinking this myself.

I think Varys will try to go full Varys next week but get himself killed for it. It won't matter though as the seeds will have already been sewn in Tyrion's mind.

I've been roped into helping a family member out with something early Monday morning. Which means I won't be able to get up early to watch this like I've done with the first 4 eps.
I swear to god if I hear any spoilers why I'm out I'm going to kill somebody.

Please don't be shit. I've been trying my hardest not to be too critical of this season and just enjoy it for what it is. I'm winning at the moment, but it's been an uphill battle.
Just, please don't be shit...

Everyone dies or no one does. They've done away with expendable characters, let's see how they end this. Penultimate episode always carried the major load of the series.

In normal circumstances it did but you'd have to imagine by episode 6 everyone of any relevance will all be in the same location. Last episodes in the past have always tied up storylines and set up potential new ones, obviously nothing left to set up now.

Final episode most likely deal with battle aftermath and final political killings?

Fuck it. I'm going to have to get up at 2am to watch it live. I can't wait the entire day to see it. Too risky.
