I'm with tatty, 35 million for Modric? Levy can fuck right off. Don't and have never seen him play well enough to justify that price tag. If it was anywhere near the region of 20 then I'd bite, but 35 ?? Please. Eden Hazard went for 32, how does Modric justify 35? 6 goals and 5 assists ? Nothing we have missed out on. Now, if we go and cheekily get Sahin from Madrid, that would be effing awesome.

"I think we are well stocked in midfield and should go balls out for Moura."
Eh, what? By all means go for Moura but where exactly does the idea that we are well stocked in midfield come from?

You know Madrid are pretty heavily stacked up in Midfield and i can't help but be a little jealous of their Midfield players.

are we gonna play 4-1-4-1 cos otherwise i would like to know how we will win the ball back playing 4 Attacking mid's, wingers by role in Midfield. Its a Gung Ho approach but could back fire badly. So can't see how its Job Sorted.

Scholes, Carrick, Anderson, Kagawa, Cleverley, Powell and I suppose you could include Jones and Rooney as they have been deployed there in the past for emergencies. There's 8 names. Tell me we aren't well stocked for 2 positions?

Powell is 18 and has never played higher than league 2. Cleverley and Anderson missed most of last season through injury. This is about the 4th season in a row this has happened to Anderson. Kagawa is best suited behind the front man or at a push on the left. Scholes is 36 and tires after 60 minutes (understandably) Rooney has rarely looked comfortaby in the middle of the park. Jones might work there as he was hit and miss in midfield last year. Carrick is an excellent player.
Lots of names, just as many question marks.

Carrick is an excellent player. it took me a good while to come to this realisation. but you are so right Stewart, the team looks much worse off without him in it. he falls in the Makelele category of being undervalued by many of the fans, but he does a lot to make the team tick.

Personally think he's a better player without Scholes in the team. He makes an interception or receives a pass, and his first thought is; "Where's Paul?" then hands it off. Never looks anywhere else, like he's used to handing over creative responsibilities. The two are still our best midfield partnership, (hopefully get proven wrong on this next season), but without Scholes on the pitch I seem to see more of what Carrick's made of.

I didn't say we have 8 world class, injury free players - I said we are well stocked.
