Wouldnt wanna see modric. Agree with tatty, kagawa looks a real talent and in long run will be better value, and get you more goals.

^ yeah. Modric is a talent but bringing him in does Kagawa no favours. unless you squeeze them both in the side together and get them linking up but i'm not sure how you go about doing that.

excuse my laziness in not hitting up the matchday thread but i just heard Roy the Boy say this United squad is the strongest in their history. some statement eh?

Would it be too much to ask for both Modric and Strootman in the summer? Any combination of them two and Carrick would be brilliant. Not getting much of a game in Madrid but still a top player, if we could get him for £25m~ I certainly wouldn't say no.

Lol, I sense sarcasm. I wasn't suggesting to sell him or anything, he'd still get plenty of games, but for me he's not good enough at the moment to really make a difference in the middle against the better teams.

I think he's a good player, I just don't think he really has an outstanding feature(s) to his game at the moment. Brings energy to the team and can drive forward at times, but he's not one to dictate the pace of the game or score a bucket load of goals. We can't settle for a person who does a job but doesn't make a difference in the team, against top teams especially it can be the difference between winning and losing.

i've never been overwhelmed with him. he's a solid player but i'd like to see a bit more ambition in his passing. he doesn't yet look like he's got that bit extra you'd hope for.

well worth his place in the squad, but he's not a player who makes a top CM an un-necessary purchase.

Clevs had his worst game of the season on Sunday by a mile. It doesn't negate all the good stuff he's done this year though. However, Carrick is what 31 now? Scholes will probably retire and my feelings on Anderson are well documented. Be it Modric or Strootman (like the look of him) I think we need something.

Or we could just sign both? You'd of thought there is a good chance of Anderson being sold, Fletcher never playing again (hopefully he does but sadly I don't think he'll ever reach the level he was at again), Scholes retiring and Giggs playing even more of a bit part role so that leaves us with Carrick, Cleverley, Giggs and Powell? That's it unless I'm missing someone, either way I don't think it's too unrealistic that we may well sign two MF's.
