I really feel for Chico. I really do. I don't know honestly what's happened with him. He doesn't get too many chances but when he does he seems unable to take them.
That said - Rooney------RVP------Lewandowski

Complete fucking trash article he has NEVER performed in a wide role for Poland he is always the top striker. Id like them to cite the last time poland has played a 4-3-3. I certainly cant in the last 10 years.

Seems like a very odd story to me, when Rooney and RvP are on form neither will be dropped, with Kagawa in the picture as well it's hard to see where he'd fit in other than on the bench.
Unless something like the following was going to happen;
Rooney Kagawa Lewandowski
RvP
I can never see that happening though. To be honest if there is genuine interest, to me it'd suggest that we maybe looking at the possibility of offloading Rooney.

^^^ or dropping Rooney........................ to a deeper midfield role that is! ah la Scholes (it has been said, and debated before) I mean really, where did he play against Cluj? he practically was a mid for the whole game. apart from this or some1 leaving, the link lingering does baffle me a bit tho.

Agreed. If we're in for an actual-name-player the last position we should be looking at is striker.

I prefer to think Fergie was at the Emptyhad the other night running the rule over Subotic. Or Reus. Or Gundogan. Or Gotze.

I'd prefer to think Fergie was at the game looking how Dortmund set their team up and looking for one or two pointers on how we should be playing. Or looking at Mr Klopp as replacement in the future. Or asking Mr Klopp "what are the best instructions for Kagawa?".
Fergie: "See that Mr Phelan? That's how I want our team to play." Yes-man: "Yes sir."

If we're going shopping in Dortmund again (and we bloody well should) then Bender or Gundogan are the players we need, not another striker.

But they have Goetze, Reus , Subotic , Hummels. While i don't think Goetze will come here unless Klopp gets the Manager's post , we could go for Reus ( if we eventualy decide to sell nani) or Subotic or Hummels . Man they have a good bunch of players and none act like a Prima donna.

Forget Lewandowski. If they're willing to do business with us after us getting Shinji for pennies, (not convinced mind,) then Gundogan's all we need.
Strong, quick feet, great passing range and vision, and doesn't mind having a crack at goal. Looks to me like what Rooney would have turned out like if he spent all his time becoming a midfielder.
Gundogan, Clevers and Shinji in the middle is a mouthwatering prospect. Could see him being comfortable in a 2-man-mid as well.
