That would be a first if goal.com actually reported something correct.
Whats next - England to win the Euros with Carroll and Henderson scoring all the goals?

He's essentially saying Dortmund are selling half their team then. WTF?! He may be a good player but I dont see why we particularly need to spend more money on strikers.

Id take a free agent this summer if we have to have a 4th striker and then spend on a striker next summer maybe if its needed.

If Henriquez gets a special visa then the 4th striker issue should be sorted. Plus we have Kagawa who can play up front if needed.

Just saying what was 'reported'....I tend to agree that if we get Henriquez and he hets a work permit, he would be an ideal 4th striker...
BTW, I think Caughtoffside talks a lot more shit that Goal.com but I see where you are coming from....

We've been heavily linked with this guy over recent weeks. I wouldn't rule it out, put it that way.

Just tend not to pay much attention when its goal.com. they tend not to let facts get in the way at times. All we can do is see what happens

www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jun/08/euro-2012-poland-manchester-united?newsfeed=truehere's another link. If true I'm baffled as to our transfer strategy this summer. maybe we really are looking to replace Berba and Owen with a good, proven goalscorer and Kagawa will be used solely as playmaker. Henriquez, if he comes in, will probably start out in the reserves anyway. Also, if the latter is able to get a visa/work permit then the papers were pretty foolish to believe Kagawa would struggle, he hasn't even played for Chile and is only 18. What Lewa would give us an actual target striker in a way, an aerial threat (something we absolutely lack, strange as we have so many good wingers that are able to pile the crosses in), looks good in the air as well as incredibly clinical. His understanding with Kagawa would be an immense bonus too.

We really do need another top class centre forward. Not sure this guy is the man but that guardian article has me really thinking here.

Baffled by people saying we need a top class striker. It will be 4-2-3-1 next season with Kagawa behind Rooney. Hernandez and Welbeck can cover while Welbeck will also get games out wide.
What we need is a creative midfielder and/or a defensive one. We actually need a defensive one most. Without Fletcher we are very exposed in the bigger games.

Is it set in stone that we'll be 4-2-3-1? Don't get me wrong, I think we will as well and I do hope to see it. But it isn't guaranteed. If we do go for 4-2-3-1, then no more strikers need to be brought in. If not, then yeah, this guy seems apt.

I agree with you tommy, don't think we need another striker, just trying to think of a hypothetical reason why we'd sign this guy.

i must say i cant undertsand the need for a 4th striker unless we are playing 442. if as most think we change to 4231 then rooney, hernandez and welbeck is more than enough vying for that 1 spot. they will all want games and are all top class strikers so makes no sense spending to add a 4th.
