I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: "What's an IQ?"

Is it set in stone that we'll be 4-2-3-1? Don't get me wrong, I think we will as well and I do hope to see it. But it isn't guaranteed. If we do go for 4-2-3-1, then no more strikers need to be brought in. If not, then yeah, this guy seems apt. Can't imagine us playing anything else now we've signed Kagawa. I agree, but come on, it's Fergie. Never really know his full intentions for the squad.

I think its very daft on the Poland manager's part to say something like this just before their first match. It will only serve to distract the players in question.

Really strange move from him. Took the spotlight and shoved it right in the lad's face. All eyes on Lew from now on. Manager must be brain dead.

Guys, Will Keane's bad injury is a factor in looking for another striker, alongside Berba probably going and Owen gone. Three strikers down.

yeah, if it wasn't for Will's injury we were set with the striker department. Still i believed that Henrique was the cover for Will , 18 and young and will not complain about match time and all.
If Lew comes don't see him warming the bench in which case DW and Chico will have to play as Wingers from Time to Time , either that or we play 4-4-2 most of the time as i don't see us using all these payers fully otherwise.

Baffled by people saying we need a top class striker. It will be 4-2-3-1 next season with Kagawa behind Rooney. Hernandez and Welbeck can cover while Welbeck will also get games out wide.
What we need is a creative midfielder and/or a defensive one. We actually need a defensive one most. Without Fletcher we are very exposed in the bigger games.

I'd assume the Chilean kid would spend time at AZ Alkmaar to get all the necessary visas etc if we were to struggle getting them, which seems likely.
Lewandowski is a top class striker, and would improve our options up-front.

Weren't we gonna go the "kid with exceptional Talent" route that arsenal took with Riyachi. if we do then it won't be a problem will it??

If the price is right, I'm all over this Lewy transfer.

I like Lewy but think we'd be better off developing Welbeck.

Well he's scored the first goal of the Euros, clever finish heading down to evade the oncoming keeper. He looks like he carries an aerial threat which is good simply because we haven't had such an obvious threat in the air for a while. Whilst all of our strikers are good in the air none are the type who you can rely on to flick on, or pose an obvious threat and compete in the air.
Being linked to all these strikers I would presume there will be no changing of the formation, which I'm fine with 4-4-2 is us & works for us, only in specific situations should it be altered IMO.

Id love to see this lad at united, however if he has a good euro tournament then I can see his interest obviously widen (queue city going for him because of this).

Interesting. Obviously just because the manager has come out and said that it doesn't necessarily mean it's happening but if it does, it's an interesting one. He's undoubtedly a quality player but I would have thought next season would see the development of a partnership between Welbeck and Rooney. Lewandowski will be a starter, so where does this leave Hernandez and Welbeck?
Obviously Welbeck can play the wings but I think he's still primarily a striker. I can see Hernandez being the one losing out here; he had a fairly poor second season, his first touch often letting him down and as well as his penchant for being caught offside repeatedly. Love the guy and in the 6 yard box he's lethal but he really needs to work on the rest of his game, but will he get the chance with a fairly big-name striker coming in?
I suppose there could also be a shout for Rooney playing behind two strikers but that would leave the central midfield pretty bare you'd have thought.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.

It's always good to have two world class strikers. Out of the three we have atm I'd say Rooney falls into that category and Welbeck will in a few years too. Hernandez, for me, is best used off the bench (hate saying that but he's most effective when defences are tired).
Welbeck offers us versatility in that he can play on the wings too or up front but Lewa would honestly give us something we lack completely at the moment, an aerial threat. Remember, Welbeck is only 21 and will be with us for years to come, this is very much an investment in our near future.
