Watched skyfall tonight. Excellent film. I can see why people think its the best Bond film ever. Its definitely one of the best in my eyes. Would recommend seeing it.
Good story with some shocks at the end. Not an over complicated plot, with great action scenes. Enjoyed it a lot.

It may be a great action/thriller, but Bond it is not. Just because the main character is called James Bond doesn't make it a Bond film.
The franchise ended with Die Another Day.

Only ones I seem to be able to watch is the Daniel Craig ones. Since they started adding more action to them they have become more watchable. Not seen Skyfall yet though so looking forward to it this weekend.

Nah, don't agree with that. They had to make it more dark and gritty to keep up with the Bourne movies. Daniel Craig plays an excellent Bond plus this film goes a bit more retro with a couple of blasts from the past (which I won't go into) and even humour has been thrown back into it. It is 100% still a Bond film, like the other Daniel Craig ones.

They had to change the main character for the latest one. And anyway, it's Bond. It's a genre by itself, they didn't need to 'keep up' with anything else. When I watch the Connery Bond films, I see James Bond. Likewise with Tim Dalton, I see James Bond; Brosnan, I see James Bond. When I watched Casino Royale (2006) I was watching Daniel Craig in a tuxedo.

Agree with Bestie on this one, haven't seen Skyfall and don't think that i will put myself to it. Daniel is a good actor but the movies just don't seem to be Bond. Having seen Connery and Brosnan as Bond and then Daniel just seems so Odd.

I have to disagree with karthy and best.
I think DC has done a decent job carrying on from Brosnan - who I think set the bar very high indeed.

All Bond films are rubbish, so I'm sure this continues the streak.

Saw it. I really liked it. Pierce Brosnan was too much ladykiller and too little Bond. Bond is supposed to be gritty. Craig is great this time around. He is helped by a great director , Sam Mendes. There are no Bond girls in this film though, that honor goes solely to M. The villain is amazing though. He is eccentric, which I think Bond villains have been lacking lately.

Me and a mate were discussing yesterday, since Craig has two more outings left as Bond, who might the next Bond actor be? It was fun taking guesses and picking our choices of who we'd like to see take up the mantle so I thought I'd pass the question on here too.
I really hope Michael Fassbender is taken into consideration. I think he is the perfect Bond out there, I don't see anybody else come close to him. Even Christian Bale is a good shout.
What do you lads think?
EDIT : Forgot, but Liam Neeson anybody? Think he'd be too old though by the time DC's tenure ends. But fuck me he'd me a superb Bond. Clive Owen is also a decent pick.

I enjoy all the bond films and consider Craig right up there with Connery. To me Moore,Dalton and Brosnan were all pretty boys that didnt look comfortable throwing a punch or getting a hair out of place.
