It's the greatest sign of our demise and desperation that we are calling for Wesley Sneijder right now. How many of you have kept track of him at Galatasaray? How many of you have seen his fitness levels and his general approach to the game now?
We need to start with fresh material. If we are buying, buy with an eye to the future. When Sneijder loses it in a couple of years then what? Do we have a resale value on him? We have to start looking all over again. Fuck that . Going for Sneijder now is absolutely stupid as a business decision and as a decision for our team.

But if he is fit then its o brainer really. And Seriously,Who cares about his resale value at this stage.. We are doing poorly in the league and we desperately needs reinforcements in CM position and he would be an instant upgrade on anyone bar Carrick in our CM. Plus a quality signing would also lift a squad. If we get him I can see him have an effect like Henrik Larsson had when he came on loan for three months back in 2007. It'd be a mere short term fix. I expect us to do our main business in summer when evetually more players will gets available.

Too right I'd sign Sneijder now because its better than seeing Fellaini, Giggs, Anderson, Cleverley or Fletcher there.

He's not as good anymore. Nobody here has seen him play in a single match in the Turkish League, nor in the Champions League yet based on feelings dating circa 2010 he is still unanimously good? I don't get it. Besides, he is not a proper CM . He plays in Kagawa's position. Which is now occupied by Wayne Rooney.

Who we should be going after is Modric. Still think he would do fantastic for us. Watched him at Real this season and I think he will be great.

OK i've changed my mind. For the first season ever imo i'm getting everything wrong so if everyone else thinks we should get sneijner then i'm on board. I am with your original post. NO to sneijder. He is a YES for me only if 1) We get him on loan. 2) We are not able to get any classy CM in Jan or are not planning for any in the Summer. If we get Sneijder in Jan, IMO we will not go for another midfielder in the summer. Will instead go for Baines, which I again dont want.

My feeling is that IF he is only looked at as a temporary solution because there just isn't the right player available AND he is fit AND he can play slightly deeper then we should go for him. As has been said, he could do a Henrik Larsson for us. I don't care about resale value but I do care about us getting top 4 at least and anyone that can help us do that has got to be worth a go.
I haven't seen him play for ages but even on a bad day he's probably better than most of what we have out there just now...

Further competition for Kagawa?
WS plays as a number 10. WS fell out with Mourinhos replacement at Inter because he wanted him to play CM. WS moaned like a whore in the press about this. I will get the qoutes later as im on my phone.
Still want him?

Sneijder went to Turkey because there's a ridiculous ceiling on tax over there. I think they only tax like 15% on anything over a £500k a year or something along those lines. Merely lining his pockets. I think he'd jump at the chance to come here.

Quick! Who do you choose? ... And that's where Sneijder fits in our squad.
