While i'd welcome him and wouldn't mind him , he'd have to be our last option ( by that i don;t mean 31st Night Signing) and is part of a 3 man purchase including another Mid which on the whole should be a 5-6 Man Purchase which includes Coentrao/Shaw and shipping out Dead wood + Rooney + promoting our youth players to the XI( *sighs hopefully*)

I sure as hell forgot seeing a United midfielder who can control and pass a football and, no, not straight to opponents. After the summer window and our current league position, value, resale etc all are out of the window. If he is in decent shape, with WC he would be extra motivated. A 2 year contract couldn't hurt. The youngsters can learn few things from him. Rather than signing a 25 yr old squad player, I prefer Wes as a stop gap. Oh and b4 anyone points he plays in the Roo/Kags position, when Giggs used in a mid 2, almost anyone can..

I don't know, he's just not what we really need and he's 29.
Gundogan and Matic please, Sneijder is over the hill.

Just scored a lovely goal to knock out Juve! He was fantastic today. Great passing, through balls and overall composure. Still, we shouldn't beat a dead horse.

Sneijder just won the game for Galatasaray, taking Juventus out of the Champions league.

What one game makes him a certain improvement? As I said before, nobody has seen him play for Galatasaray on a regular basis. Just because he played well in one game doesn't mean he is the answer. Much prefer keeping one eye on the next 5 years and signing someone whose performance won't go down because he is getting old. Much rather spend money on younger talent.

I don't see the point of getting Sneijder in January. Maybe next summer. He's going to be cup tied for CL, so it would be a waste in that regard.
Get Ander Herrera in January instead.

Still though, he didn't look unfit or like he'd let himself go. Age might be a problem, being cup tied obviously is bug I didn't see anything wrong with his fitness.

No he looks like he's at the peak of his career. Would definitely strengthen our squad, but what would be his intended position? I don't know if there's any point in getting another player in who's going to compete with Kagawa and Rooney for the hole. We also have Powell and Lingard who would be contenders for that spot. If he's going to play like a playmaking central midfielder then I'm all for that. I don't know if I prefer him to Gundogan though. When taking the age into consideration then Gundogan is definitely a better prospect for the future. We should still get in someone to hassle and win the ball. I still think Herrera is the one we need.

If he came, we'd need to switch to a mid 3. Which might actually have the advantage of getting something out of Fellani as well.

Fuck cup tied. Fuck age. We need someone of Sneijder's calibre NOW. Pay what it takes, and get Fergie to convince him if he comes, we'll get CL football next season. He'll be the lynchpin of our midfield.
