Maybe we should just submit an offer for Fabregas again. Couldn't hurt. Let's leave it to the 28th of January before looking for someone else if Barca say no again.

In terms of quality, we have Carrick and Clev counts as half. There is plenty of room for mids. Sign him in Jan and go after 2 more in the summer. Couple of years down the line, phase out/move Carrick and Wes on, by which time Pearson, Powell should be ready. Don't see what the issue is? Concerns reg fitness levels are valid but beggars can't be choosers right!
Gundogan was scheduled to return early Nov, then sometime in Dec and now mid Jan. If it is chronic or persistent injury type, he might not even wanna come to EPL. We would do well to carefully monitor the situation and avoid another Hargo.

Fuck cup tied. Fuck age. We need someone of Sneijder's calibre NOW. Pay what it takes, and get Fergie to convince him if he comes, we'll get CL football next season. He'll be the lynchpin of our midfield. sneijder is definitely not worth spending big money on, it is not so much his age, it is his injury record. every season he misses a lot of games through injury, which means you cannot really build a team around him because he is constantly missing. he is not exactly known for his professionalism in terms of keeping himself in shape either, when he comes back from injury he is usually overweight, he is only worth taking a punt on if he comes very cheap, like under £10 million. i know we need midfielders but that doesn't mean we should panic and make signings that don't make sense, we already did that with fellaini..

I don't really like us purchasing 29 year old players, but push comes to shove and we can't buy anyone young and talented; Sneijder is a huge talent. Maybe a swap deal for Sneijder with Anderson or something might be possible.

Sneijder went to Turkey because there's a ridiculous ceiling on tax over there. I think they only tax like 15% on anything over a £500k a year or something along those lines. Merely lining his pockets. I think he'd jump at the chance to come here. Still a good player too. Agree with this. Not to sure where he'd fit in to the current set-up either. You have to make an immediate decision between playing Ryan Giggs, Maurouane Fellaini, Anderson or Wesley Sneijder versus city at Old Trafford to guarantee we get top four (*Sigh*). Quick! Who do you choose? ... And that's where Sneijder fits in our squad. He isn't really an out and out midfielder though is he? He's more of a number 10 Saying that I would have him over our current options though we should be looking for a proper box to box.

I sure as hell forgot seeing a United midfielder who can control and pass a football and, no, not straight to opponents. After the summer window and our current league position, value, resale etc all are out of the window. If he is in decent shape, with WC he would be extra motivated. A 2 year contract couldn't hurt. The youngsters can learn few things from him. Rather than signing a 25 yr old squad player, I prefer Wes as a stop gap. Oh and b4 anyone points he plays in the Roo/Kags position, when Giggs used in a mid 2, almost anyone can.. Or you know, we could sign a proper central midfielder.

This, Sneijder is not a centre mid, and he'll spend half the season injured, he's not the answer...

Yeah but is there quality CM's available in Jan? Im not talking enforcer type; that still won't solve creativity issues.

Talk of signing Sneijder?
Is, is it 2010?
What's happening, have I dreamt the last 3 years.
I'm scared.

Never ending saga continues: www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/wesley-sneijder-ready-take-pay-2945115?Wesley Sneijder is reportedly prepared to take a £1 million a year pay cut to join Manchester United. The Dutch midfielder is hoping to make a £10 million switch to Old Trafford from Turkish club Galatasaray in January. And according to The Sun, he is willing to see his take home pay drop from £4 million to £3 million a year. Sneijder is said to be frustrated at Galatasaray. The 29-year-old is also understood to be worried about his place in the Netherlands side at next year's World Cup. --------------------------------- Is this the same player whose wage demands apparently didnt fit into our system.

Well, we were asking him to move from Inter to here and take a massive pay-cut.
Moving to us now would represent a huge step up again, rather than a marginal step up.

Yes Times change so quickly. When he was with Inter, he was not ready for a pay-cut, but now it seems he is desperate.

£20m cheaper than 2 years ago. Would be worth a punt now I reckon given our misgivings in midfield!
