I cannot fathom what has just happened.
18 elementary school kids mowed down by another loon empowered by US law to possess a gun.
Shocking , gut-wrenching , devastating.
I don't know how, to this date, gun laws have not changed in that country. In spite of Aurora, Columbine, Virginia-Tech, the Gurdwara. Fucking redneck gun-nuts still want legal rights to possess a weapon.
I hate Piers Morgan. he is a tit. But he is right on one thing.
This is America's Dunblane. And they had better act fast.

They should ban them like they did in the UK, period.
Again, as Mr. Morgan says, for what unfathomable reason would a civilian need to have machine guns in his house? For what possible fucking reason ?

REdcase, you're wrong, this isn't America's Dunblane. Their Dunblane was years ago and has been repeated too many times since then. They have no appetite to fix the problem or it would have been fixed yonks ago.
Their stubborn refusal to overturn their gun laws is far too backwards for a world superpower. And all because a few guys thought it was a constitutional right in a completely different age.

I would add, more controversly, that America gets what it deserves. (I don't mean the innocent children) But if you're going to let people play with guns, expect people to get shot.

Guns are flying of the shelves, literally. Went to a one of the probably 7 or 8 gun shops within 15 minutes of my home few weeks ago you would have thought they were giving away money.
Huge problem but it wont get fixed because revoking a constitution right would have even bigger back lash, id say almost anarchy and aggression at government and law enforcement.

No it wouldn't I think K7E. Possession of a firearm should never be termed as a fundamental right of a civilian. Never. The biggest problem are the fucking Republicans. Just last week or something they passed a bill that ALLOWED the possession of a gun in school/daycare/elementary.
How is that a good thing?

Im just commenting on the society here, I live in Cleveland and people openly drive around with confederate flags on their trucks, saw another one yesterday with Swastikas on it. Its disgusting. Apart from my 9-5 I worked in the bar scene a lot last year and after a wave of drunken fights/ shootings the state of ohio made it legal to carry firearms into restaurants, bars, night clubs, etc. It was terrifying being at work and dealing with bar fights.

Shocking for the people involved. R. I. P.
Not shocking as an event. At all. Nevermind rescinding a Constitutional right, the government simply needs to bring in so many taxes and restrictions on ammunition that Americans can "bear arms" all they like. No bullets, means no shooting.

I hope you're not on the bar scene any more. It does sound terrifying.

Believe me I feel like thinking that America brought this upon themselves, but the thought of those kids is just too much.

No no, you've mistaken me. I mean the headline 'Shooting in American school' just isn't shocking anymore, unfortunately.
But when you put the people into it, and think about it's children getting gunned down as you say, then the whole context completely changes.

the context is different this time, but essentially it's the same old story, different nutter. not shocked about it one little bit, sadly.

just saw this.............. sad, oh so sad! my heart is broken.
all of those lost little children, why did that MONSTER go after the children? so young and innocent, what could they possibly have done to provoke such an end? so close to Christmas too, a time for family and merriment, now a shattered dream to so many families.
and as for the debate on America's gun laws..... bear in mind it doesn't just affect the 'good old US of A'. all, and i mean ALL of the countries in this region of the world are affected by it! my country is averaging 2-5 murders a day, and most of these are from gun crimes. Look at Mexico for crying out loud...... they are absolutely reeling from the effect that these, mostly USA made, guns are having on the drugs trade.
what many don't realise is that it is quite easy to sell an legitimately bought in the US gun on the black market outside of the US. too easy for may people's liking. and the eventual effect is a rise in the crime rates in the region.
but, getting back to the issue at hand, i will pray for these souls that have moved on, and their families. no one deserves to lose someone in such a manner, and especially in a place that should signify safety and security for the innocents of society.

May those innocent souls rest in peace.
But unfourtunately this doesn't come as a "shock" anymore. And still nothing has changed and it won't in the future - I wonder what has to happen for the amercicans to realize that allowing such an easy acces to guns and ammunition brings nothing positive for the society. And i believe that laws should addapt and evolve with the times - something that seemed a good idea and was practical more than 200 years ago just doesn't fit in with todays society - holding on to their precius second amendment so they have the illusion of false "safety" while the innocent suffer.
