i respect your opinion a lot on this forum you seem like one of the only ones on here that keep it realistic and calm. i know you can see and identify the patterns we go through year after year with united and the league thats a good skill to have when analyzing united and football

thanks a lot man this is a good forum to be able to say your piece to be fair.

yeah rafa's done a fair bit to cool my nerves, just even less optimistic about fabio, even though some feel he's technically the better of the two. what particularly worries me is that we sent him on loan and bought another LB at at time when evra was desperate for a rest and some competition. maybe Fergie thought that playing more regularly at QPR would be better for him, i mean loan moves don't mean the end for the player but i felt this one was a strange one, strange timing.

Fabio and / or Rafael should be allowed to play on the wing. Have been saying this since all of last season. That way, we won't really require a winger next season. In fact, we should recall him and do just that - seeing that we are currently short on wingers, so we will know if we need to purchase one in the summer.

let me ask you a question Jim and its the only thing that makes me think Fabio might not make it at LB for united and actually holds him back from securing that spot over evra and buttner is Fabio is right footed. Can a right footed player play LB at United? im not too sure i dont think it has happened in the last decade irwin silvestre fortune heinze evra this does not mean he wont make it in another position at united i think really he and raf should play right back and compete for the spot it would be healthy as they are brothers

And please no one say P.Neville he was not a class left back

Yeah, me too - but on days where Valencia, Young or Nani are out of form, and when one or two have been injured, at least we have additional back up for us. Best time to test them is now, with Valencia seemingly on a poor run, and Nani out of the picture due to injury / form / fan hatred lol.

Still confident they can do a good job at the wings. Speed, skill, work ethic, Brazilian silky samba moves - brilliant players they are.

Can't agree with that, but I can understand where you're coming from. I think some on the forum have the same idea as you.

Personally, Giggs doesn't have the pace any more especially on the left where Evra is, we might require someone who can help chase back - and who better than Rafael / Fabio? And while Welbeck / Rooney are versatile enough to be played on the wings, they should be played where they play best for maximising profits.

Not saying it will 100% work with Fabio and Rafael, but I think we should try. Plus, Rafael has a mean frakking shot.

Irwin was right footed mate, and he was the best left back I've seen both at United and in the prem league, ahead of both Evra and Cole.

Good source on Twatter reckons we're already talking to Lampards agent about getting him in the summer. I saw murmours about this last summer and apparently Fergie rates him really highly. I'm not sure about it to be honest, is he in the twilight of his career?

I just can't see it personally. But if we got one excellent season out of him, for free, why not?

Football fans are fickle creatures. Sure, he is a chav dick and JT's bummer buddy. But if he banged in 15 goals for us and was part of a league winning side, I for one would come round to the idea pretty sharpish.

He is a good player, but as I keep banging on about, we already have two spots we could be giving youngsters a chance in held over for welllllll over-30s.
