Maradonna's was coke if i'm not mistaken. Not performance enhancing. Pep Guardiola was done twice as a player. There is a big list somewhere i have seen. A lot of well known players (none from United). but the report would only say "banned substance". Not performance enhancing

There's a massive difference between compensating for a hormonal disorder, originating from a malfunctioning gland, and taking hormonal supplements to enhance performance in a healthy individual.

To suggest it was intended as performance enhancing from the off is a tad cynical, I mean, he discontinued use of the medically prescribed dosage when he became an adult. It's not like Barca tried to create this super footballer, they got a 4'2" little kid who needed treatments to develop normally and they helped him out.

So every single person who's ever gotten medical assistance for GHD as a kid and gone on to enjoy a sport would therefore be considered to be doping? Hardly.

Agreed - exactly my point.

It really depends on his condition though, how bad it really was. But usually hormonal deficiency means that there would be a defect or problem as he ages.

Regardless of the above statement; I am a bit sceptical as to whether Barcelona was charitable enough to simply provide treatment for Messi's sake... I think they might have done it as an investment instead, since they probably knew Messi had the talent to go far. I might be wrong.

One would think someone would realize a specific player hasn't featured for 6 months, haha!

That, or those are extremely lower tier players, in which case it's no surprise so many of them have indulged in a bit of the old nose candy.

This is why i was saying that they are claiming to be injured when they are actually banned for drugs. I'm shocked that jnournalists who love to bring down the rich & famous haven't outed them. Some of them are lower league though.

united fans who allow themselves to hate barca cos they win everything (and that is the reason, if you say it isn't then you're either a liar or in denial) should consider the ABUism that's we've all put up with for years...COS WE WERE WINNING EVERYTHING... and vow not to fall into that trap themselves. it's for small timers. if we were also rans for the last 20 years no-one would care

To suggest/think Barcelona paid for the drugs just to be charitable you're high #eyebrows# . They knew Messi was going to be good, and they 'roided him up so he could play for them. Messi, as well, took these drugs knowing fine well exactly what they were for. So he could play football at thighest level for the club paying for them. Can you blame him for that? Not for wanting to play at the highest level, no.
