I'd say the only way any of us would take this is if we were to re-invest the cash and it totalled something ridiculous like 60 mil or something. Get Lewa (<20 Mil) and Bale (40-50 mil) and that should fill any lingering void people may feel from Wazza's departure whilst making us, arguably, one of the strongest teams in Europe. Then we'd all wake up to find it was all a dream and we've re-signed Gibson on loan.

I digress... but technically, isn't "Me and my friend" not wrong? It's just polite to put others before you and that's why it's "My friend and I" isn't it? - Read it somewhere off the internet so could be wrong, although I have always been using the latter.

Collegehumor makes really funny stuff. It (at the minute mark of the video) explains how to remember how to say it correctly - but doesn't explain why though. Arguably, "Me and my friend" isn't actually wrong as they could form a subject, couldn't they? Therefore, "Me and my friend thought Mancini was full of shit and piss" isn't wrong - or is it? If you follow the video, does that make "I and my friend" right then? - if you remove "and my friend" the sentence becomes "I thought Mancini was full of shit and piss"... which isn't wrong. I think this actually boils down to sounding rude, as you should put others you like before you as part of being polite, and maybe nothing to do with being grammatically correct or not. This website seems to agree with me: wordwatchtowers.wordpress.com/2010/02/07/my-friends-and-i-or-me-and-my-friends/

Well I expect this thread to challenge the Sneijder thread for longevity after last night.

it's not unlike Ferguson to make strange omissions in european games, he used to do it with Hughes in the early days and he's made strange selections now and then throughout his whole tenure, sometimes rightly and sometimes wrongly depending on the result.
you'd have to say pre-red card the selection was working last night. i doubt he's planning on moving rooney on, but you never know.

Benzema is a top player, he didn't start last night either. I hope Rooney doesn't leave, love him as a player but who knows? There is a bit of a pattern, Becks vs Madrid, Ruud in the league cup final. Hope not though.

I thought maybe the plan was to bring Rooney on at around 60, 65th min to shore up work rate and fire power. Obviously, we brought him in in the end, but in a different situation than what we might have in mind.
Thought it would have worked as well.

I think if you put on Kagawa and Rooney when we are 1-0 up the game would be in the bag.
