www.football365.com/news/matic-is-a-gross-loss-for-us-admits-chelsea-boss-conteAntonio Conte has admitted that Nemanja Matic will be “a gross loss” for Chelsea this season following his transfer to Manchester United. The 28-year-old completed a move to Old Trafford on July 31 for £40million after winning the Premier League title with the Blues last term. Conte had hinted previously that he was unhappy that the club had chosen to let the Serbian midfielder leave Stamford Bridge and now he has confirmed that his sale will hit his side hard. “Matic knows very well what I think about him,” Conte told Sky Sports. “The importance for me about this player, as I repeat he’s a really real good player, he’s a really strong player, very important for our team. “But sometimes I think you must accept this crazy transfer market. Sometimes you must accept different decisions. “But I repeat – for sure this a gross loss, a great loss for us.” makes it so much more sweeter to know that conte wanted to keep him and couldnt do shit about it

Great to see a new player settling in straight away Matic is a no nonsense mans man, these pussies that take two seasons to fit in get on my fucking wick.

So, is he still considered a Chelsea reject after Conte's comments?

Has all the potential to be one of the signings of the summer.

No idea why Chelsea sold. I guess it is just their instinct to try and balance the books whenever they can. They'll try and spin it as replacing Matic with a younger model with the potential to be a lot better. But they are going to be left short in midfield and I don't think they have the squad depth to win the title again.
But for us it is a massive boon. He brings a lot of the qualities Carrick used to give us in midfield. He reads the game well. His positioning is good. He is tactically aware. He is comfortable in possession. He is a great team player. He is an experienced Premier League player used to winning things. And he knows exactly what Jose wants from his players and from his teams. And the best part is he ensures that Fellaini will be used more sparingly and higher up the pitch where he is a lot more effective and a lot less of a liability.

The Matic analysis around 8:30 onwards shows how wrong pretty much all of us were.
It says everything how no one really complained that Herrera got dropped becaise Matic was that good.

Been absolutely immense. Keane-esque in the way he controls the midfield. Could be a key player for us for a few years to come.
How Chelsea let him go so easily is baffling.

I must say Matic has won me over, I did question why we signed if Chelsea were willing to let him go. It seems it a mistake on their part rather than any doubt on his ability
