would like to point out that clubs do not submit a bid unless they were sure there was interest by the player that he is willing to move. This means that Fabregas is open to a move. If Manchester United genuinely “missed out” on Thiago Alcantara when the young Spain midfielder agreed to join Bayern Munich, it was not a transfer the Premier League champions were ever close to completing.
According to senior sources at Barcelona, at no point were United in contact to discuss a transfer fee, nor to signal their intention to activate Thiago's release clause.
That stance fits with United's public position on the subject. Asked about the 22-year-old being a target for the club last week, David Moyes said: "I never said at any time that he was.Duncan Castles wrote this

The most interesting difference between this and the Thiago saga is that none of the major news outlets in UK reported any stories on Thiago. They ALL cited Spanish newspapers as their source so it was more a rehash than anything else. Alistair Ferguson tweeted back in June that a SSN reporter confided in him (off the record), that Fabregas said if he ever moves back to the PL, it would be to Manchester United. Make of it what you will.Duncan Castles wrote this

Cesc: Sure! if Barca want to sell me... MUFC: Barca do you want to sell Cesc? FCB: Not Really, but if he wants to go....... we'll consider it. MUFC: Cesc, they say they'll consider it. were gonna make a bid...... ...... Later on that summer transfer window...... MUFC: Cesc we made the bid, why didn't you say you wanted to leave? Cesc: i dont want to leave because Barca dont want to sell me. MUFC: Barca, why didnt you accept the bid? FCB: we said we'd consider it, and we did. The boy doesn't want to leave. our hands are tied. MUFC: ah bugger this, who's the top local barber? something tells me we'll need to be stocking up on some curly haired wigs for the Megastore.

can someone help me here but dont the rules state that unless your bid has been accepted by a club, you cannot talk to a player. if this is the case why would we waste our time with a bid for a player.
barcelona said no bid for thiago then he leaves? barcelona confirm bid for cesc then?

Make sure you manage United otherwise you'll see a lot of ridiculous signings that make zero sense nor improve the team. Like James McCarthy or Scott Parker or whoever else is over-rated when the game's released.
Like Hangeland always signing for Chelsea in one of the older FM games or Fergie retiring after one season every edition until he actually has.

Last year was as good as it gets. Youngster, rising star, world class player, and a dutch bastard.
