can someone help me here but dont the rules state that unless your bid has been accepted by a club, you cannot talk to a player. if this is the case why would we waste our time with a bid for a player. barcelona said no bid for thiago then he leaves? barcelona confirm bid for cesc then? Yes that rule exists, but says nothing about clubs talking to representatives of the player, like agents. Which they all have. So its one mega loop-hole. There's no way we'd bother to bid without having contacted him (in)directly to see if he's keen on a move. So the fact this isn't rumours or conjecture but seems that a genuine bid has been made really has picked up my interest. Unless this gets rubbished in rather a short time, I'll just sit here with a semi. It did seem strange to me that the Fabregas rumour kind of persisted all the way through the Thiago saga. Didn't Dennis Irwin say he was number one target back in June? Think he said something about the RvP transfer last year too. And before people say it, Arsenals first refusal means nothing unless he wants to go there.

Make sure you manage United otherwise you'll see a lot of ridiculous signings that make zero sense nor improve the team. Like James McCarthy or Scott Parker or whoever else is over-rated when the game's released. Like Hangeland always signing for Chelsea in one of the older FM games or Fergie retiring after one season every edition until he actually has. I started my current game at N.Forest. Fergie signed, Strootman, Thaigo and Neymar first season and got Bale the following January, had to crack one out to that team, proper Fantasy Football

Has anyone figured out why would Barca possibly want to sell Fabregas?

5 pages in five hours( from my last post) and everyone still says that their Transfer Muppet is dead or numb , bollocks . Just so no one posts these again , no posting of Quotes or pages or links of when Cesc said he respected/admired/would love to join United back when he was in Arsenal preparing to meet us in the Champs Lge or that of how apart from Arsenal we were the only club with History he liked or about his doubts or not warming up to the fans at Barca - just so we don't get this to 100 pages .. well there is Fellaini still anyway otherwise

I think its strange to put in a bid for a player we know we will not get or is not open to a move. I think we have (my inner muppet) had an indication that fabregas wants to leave barca and they are willing to sell because he actually wants to leave hence why we have submitted a bid. we would be stupid to make a bid otherwise is what im guessing. From what I have read about barca messi runs the team and upsets a lot of players/managers with his arrogance of im best player in the world and cant be coached. if Ronnie wants to leave why not fabregas

Anyone shed any light on when the last time we went public with a bid and failed?
Cos as far as I can think all other players we missed out on lately, I.e Sneijder, Thiago etc we never officially made a bid.

And before people say it, Arsenals first refusal means nothing unless he wants to go there. Pretty much. The timing of all this has me puzzled though. Why "come out with this" the day after the Thiago ship left the docks? If it was a punt in the dark wouldn't we make it while Barca could still choose between losing Thiago or Cesc? Either something has been in the works this whole time and both sides agreed to keep it mum until the Thiago deal went through, or it's a PR show by the gimps designed to convince us that they "tried" to sign actual named midfielders.
