David Beckham went through his fair share of hairstyles in his playing career but Alex Ferguson put the kibosh on one in particular.
When Beckham showed up with his hair shaved into a mohawk ahead of Manchester United's Charity Shield clash with Chelsea in 2000, he was told that he wouldn't be allowed to play with that hairstyle.
Alex Ferguson definitely fell into the no-nonsense category of managers and he let Beckham know that he wasn't a fan of his new haircut in no uncertain terms.
"I walked in the changing room and he hadn’t seen it because I was too scared to even show him," Beckham told Otro.
"I’d gone into training the day before with a beanie on, trained in a beanie, gone back, walked in the hotel, had a beanie on, had dinner, beanie on, breakfast beanie on, bus on way to stadium - beanie.
"Then as I got ready for the game I took it off', Fergie said 'What the fucking hell is that???' 'go and shave it off'.
"I giggled and he was like 'no, I’m serious. Go and shave it off'. So I had to find a pair of clippers and I shaved it off in Wembley Stadium. Manager always rules."
United fell to a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on that afternoon and Beckham's mohawk did not reappear until the end of the 2000/01 season, when he joined up with the England camp.
Sven-Göran Eriksson clearly wasn't as strict as Fergie when it came to Beckham's haircuts...
C Otro.

Any thoughts on the Mail on Sunday story re SAF and his feeling “isolated” and that he (supposedly) favoured Pochettino over Ole? Thought he’d been involved more recently.

It was said that ole and Mick was his doing, maybe he also that Ole was just temporary so they could tempt Poch. Or maybe it's bullshit.

3 possibilities
1 Bull 2 Ole was Fergies recommendation for caretaker but he thought Poch was the long term appointment 3 Fergie distancing himself from the fallout from a bad appointment as he did with Moyes
I’m going no 2. Which is what the club should have done, not necessarily with Poch. But the better candidate regardless.

ALEX FERGUSON PRAISED Bayern Munich’s footballing structure as the former Manchester United manager lauded the club’s links to their past.
While United have struggled since Ferguson departed in 2013 – failing to win the Premier League – Bayern continue to dominate the Bundesliga with seven successive titles.
United finished sixth in 2018-19 as they missed out on Champions League qualification, while the Red Devils are still searching for a director of football to assist manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
And Ferguson hailed Bayern’s hierarchy, which is led by president Uli Hoeness and chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
“They’re a great club. It’s a club run in the proper foundation of it,” Ferguson told MUTV prior to Sunday’s Treble Reunion game, which United won 5-0 at Old Trafford.
“Former players who run it really, Uli Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, they run the club in the right way and they are always winning the league in Germany. They’re a great club.”
