Not really news this. I think we all knew this after the game last night.
I thought he dithered a few times during the game but then if he was trying to pull something clever he wouldn't be chasing back 60 yards to tackle Ramires. Anyway all speculation is redundant now because he's staying.

whats the odds rooney gets a new contract after all this bs! Doubt it. Don't think he'd sign it anyway.

whats the odds rooney gets a new contract after all this bs! Doubt it. Don't think he'd sign it anyway. He could run his contract down another year and then he holds all the cards, and we will know that for sure if he has not signed a new deal by next summer... So lets use him to full effect, and not forget that Wayne Rooney was being used as a sub last season and there are reasons for it, he was poor by his standards! Lets see if that is behind him now and he continues performances like last night all season...

Rooney will be finished by the time 2015 rolls around.
Doesn't take care of himself well enough at all. He'll be, what, pushing 30/31?

Just trick him (lets face it, it aint hard). Tell him he can sign a release for but carefully hold another peice of paper along with it. So in fact hes not signed that but a new contract for 5 years with half his wages.
We could call it the switcharooney

One of two thing will now certainly happen,he will be sold before the transfer window closes next August/September or he will be given a wacking great big new contract.

I read somewhere in a rag which I thought was a good point, If a new contract is offered make it performance related! If he does not like that then sell him on. However make sure that offer is on the table fairly soon so if he refuses we have plenty of time to sort out his replacement as we are not exactly fast at transfers any more!

If he stays it makes sense to tie him to a new contract, or we get fuck all next year...but this new contract better be performance related and more in line with his ability compared to others that are currently on 200k a week...

How anyone can be happy with Rooney staying I don't know. Another season of no Kagawa, Danny out wide and Hernandez getting 15 minutes here and there what a waste of some great talent. To top it all off he doesn't even want to play for us.
