Its good that he won't be going back to crewe. That means either he plays for the first team( Very unlikely) or his loaned to some Mid Table team like Welbeck or Cleverley. I don't want him playing in the reserves though. Why not? Surely this lad at 18 would benefit more from being at United for a season than signing him and then loaning him out. As I've previously said, his year in the Crewe first team has given him a level of experience most his age don't. Also loan deals aren't some magical path to better players. He could do worse than spending a year with the best coaching and facilities in England, especially as we can educate him in our way of football. My sentiments exactly, as I posted early in the thread. He needs to be "United-ised" not immediately shipped out!

To be fair to Fergie and Gill, Utd aren't fucking around this summer that's for sure.

I've just seen the photo of Powell and Gill with the shirt. He must be a 6 footer I'm guessing. Gill is about 6"6' isn't he, and he's not that much bigger than Powell.
Plays deep, creative and scores, 6 footer, this the new Cantona/Sheringham?
No pressure by the way son.

2 signings in 2 weeks is nice both players probably best playing behind the striker by all acounts. i know many people are saying he can play in midfield but can we just play players to their strengths rather than trying conversions. we just need to now buy an out and out midfielder, the moment we can carrrick, scholes and cleverley. i expect anderson will be sold

I wonder whether he'll get any sort of look in this season for the first team. From his interview, saying he's looking forward to working with all the world class players and SAF, it seems the Gaffer has told him he's in his first team plans. Likely taking some of the gametime Will Keane would have gotten?
Not really sure how we're going to use him either, forward-thinking midfielder or out and out striker. I'd love for him to be groomed as a mid who can hit them in from distance, he does have a bit of a cannon on him.

Hells yeah, glad we beat the chasing pack on a nice youth prospect for once in recent times! Also, fun fact: It's my birthday on the 15th of March, Kagawa's on the 17th of March and Powell on the 23rd... Which one of our current transfer targets have their birthday in March?!

Annoyingly Pogba shares a birthday with me, 15 March, so that's pretty shit.
Modric: 9 September :/

In a few years Pogba will be looking at how well Powell has progressed and will be kicking himself big style....

Powell will be involved with the first team. Won't start every game obviously.
