Daily Mail reporting we have struck a deal with Crewe for their 18 yr old prodigy Nick Powell. Scored 15 goals this season.
Now thats the kind of news I want to hear!

Powell is a technically gifted player with notable composure, anticipation and creativity. He is praised for his ability to find space on the pitch in which to both receive and pass the ball, a quality which allows him to dictate the tempo of games and maintain possession for his team. He plays often as an advanced midfielder, sometimes in the second-striker role, but can also play a deeper-lying role. In addition to midfield positions he is comfortable on either flank as well as playing as a striker.

Bloody hell its not us taking a punt of some unheard* of midfield prodigy that I've been crying out for years for?
Ok not that unheard of, hes drawn a lot of premier league attention in recent months and even if this report is actually rubbish he'll probably be snapped up by premier league team.

A quick perusal of a Crewe forum and they were pretty much saying they same thing about about Powell to us for around £4mill several hours before the mail report went up, could be true or that the mails source  |

Just a couple of things i'm wondering about-
When do we think the move will be officially completed?
And, is Powell coming to us directly, or is he staying on a Crewe for another season etc?
If anybody can shed some light on things.

Well Crewe still have their playoff final next sunday so i doubt they would let him go before that (plus i dont think we could cos of the transfer window).
I'd say at 18 he would be coming to us - unless they get promoted - in which case they might loan him back for a season. That might all depend on how well he does on tour for us too id say

SET, thanks for the info.
If Powell is loaned back to Crewe, then he obviously can't contribute for us next season.
It will be interesting to see what happens, suppose we'll have to wait and see.

Well i cant see him breaking into our 1st team if we were to loan him back to them. Or is this signing one of them " for Future Type's".
Gr8 we have got a talented boy, but i'd want him loaned to crewe only if they get promoted or better still to one of the newly promoted sides.
