Danny Murphy is mid-table level at best. So yeah, he could have stayed at Liverpool. Platt and Jones I'll give you as good players, but both are royally tainted. Murphy is better than half their current midfield even at his present age. If he had stayed, they definitely wouldn't have slipped to where they are now.

That's not fair, most of Liverpool's current midfield is shite. You have to remember that Murphy left Liverpool in 2004, as he had been upgraded. By XABI ALONSO. Anyway, Murphy isn't better than Gerrard or Lucas, so he shouldn't be playing most weeks. Murphy is decent but nothing more.

Aye, but he would have offered them depth which is what they lacked. Gerrard, Alonso and Masch - nothing after that. Also, when the latter two left Murphy would have become first choice again. My enduring memory from my first few years as a United fan is Murphy repeatedly dicking us every single time we played Liverpool.

It probably is done ginger, It's just funny the way he phrased it. Everyone expects it to be completed after Sunday.
Clyne is probably not coming, as rene mentioned in another thread, and that was also considered a done deal.

The Crewe manager has to toe the party line.
Even if it is done, he can't mention anything, until it's officially confirmed by both parties.
To be expected really.

Surely League 1 (if they are promoted) is a higher standard than the reserves?

I'm pretty sure league 2 is better than the reserves (not our reserves) but the general standard.

Nah, the reserve league gives quite good football actually. And I sit through some League 2 when I can stand it, and it is bloody shite.
