Well if he impresses on tour we might keep him. But it would be one hell of a step up so a loan move would probably be better for the lad regardless.
Have to confirm he's signed for us first tho.....

If the club are saying that they're waiting to see if Powell can establish himself in the reserves, then it's probably unlikely he'll be going out on loan.

Yeah, to strengthen our reserves, not because he has the potential to be a great player for us in the future.... I know it's Crewe but I work with a lot of Crewe fans and they rave about this kid. It's not just us who are interested in him either, several Premier League clubs are including (apparently) Chelsea. It shouldn't affect other dealings as obviously he's one for the future and we need players for now too, but it's a bit silly to write him off. He has the potential to make the step up from what I've seen/heard. The kids only 18 everybody has to start somewhere.

People raved about how we missed out on the likes of Ramsey, Oxo-Cube, Bale, etc.
This is/will be one of those signings. May not be first team material now, but he does look a great prospect

We're spending £4 million to strengthen out the reserves?
Think that's unfair considering the lad hasn't kicked a ball in anger for us yet at any level.
Powell is quite clearly a talented player, you have to give him time to settle in.

Watched him the other night. Certainly looks a top class player for his age group, but is completely raw potential. I also liked the look of Clayton who got their 2nd goal, and he's a year younger.

Where's the confirmation? Nothing on BBC or (as far as I can see) Sky Sports News.

standard. always good to sign this type of player good to see us starting our business early Yep. Glad we've picked this lad up, as Bestie said, we've all moaned we didn't get Ox, Ramsey, Walker, Bale etc. So when we do sign a player like those kids were it's a waste of cash, we're doing things on the cheap and he's a waster. Some United fans expect big signing all the time, but you need to temper that with a solid youth recruitment. £4mill is high for an 18 year old League 2 player, but if it pays off, it'll be a decent bit of business, and as a consequence we've probably secured Crewe's future for the next 20 years.
