still doesn't mean that it wasn't a good goal The go to excuse from ABU'S was Rooney shinned it so it wasn't a great goal. Even though it clearly touched Rooneys foot.

still doesn't mean that it wasn't a good goal Agreed. As long as it goes into the net, don't care which part of the body. The instinct must be there to score that goal, anyway.

I think that was when the extent of the sheer mental-ness of the ABUs became clear to me, the nonsense about Rooneys goal. It was one of the great goals ever scored at OT and then the Mingus came out in force.
You have to laugh.

Let's say we get him back from loan and put him in the middle with Carrick, Cleverley or Jones... Do people here still think we need to purchase players? I keep thinking this. IF Fletch can get fit and be his former self then it is 'like a new signing'...we have Powell out there and he could easily do a job for us now. There's even Tunnicliffe but I have been hearing he may not be at United level... The problem is if we bring someone in then we would restrict the chances of some of the younger players...a bit of a dilemma... Not really , Jones is a CB and will need to be at the back , Carrick isn't gonna be able to put in the same week in week out as age catches up , Ando most likely sold and Giggs hopefully retires and Fletcher even if he is back to his best will still need rotation. We'd probably buy 1 max 2 MF players so it'd be Carrick , Clevs , Powell , Fellaini , Fletcher and 2 more - will get plenty of time since we will be rotating and in all 4 competitions

thepeoplesperson.com/2014/04/12/nick-powell-is-ready-to-sink-arsenal/?Nick Powell has enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with Wigan Athletic this year and tomorrow, he’ll have the opportunity to make it to the FA Cup final as Wigan take on Arsenal at Wembley. Arsenal will go into the tie as favourites on paper but both Wigan and Nick Powell have fond memories of recent trips to Wembley. Wigan are the current holders of the FA Cup having beaten Manchester City 1-0 in the final last season while Powell’s wonderful strike helped Crewe Alexandra win the League Two play-off final back in 2012. For Powell, winning the FA Cup would be a fantastic achievement and with Wigan still in contention for promotion to the Premier League, he could do the double which would do wonders for his confidence as a player. Big things are expected of Powell in the future and he has really flourished on loan this year. If he can bring that sort of form back to Old Trafford, he’ll have every chance of becoming a regular next season. -------------- Go on, Nick.

I'm pretty sure he's been on the bench since coming back from injury. Not sure of he's certain to start.

Disappointed he's not started but maybe it's custom made for him to come on and score a piledriver. Fingers crossed.

Didn't exactly pull up any trees when he came on, showed glimpses of what he can do, was always in space and showed some class control when Carson hoofed it upto him. And he's a very strong lad.
Baring in mind though he was playing with a championship side who were trying to hold out for the draw, most likely would be able to do a lot more with the likes of Mata, Kagawa and Januzaj around him.
