He is a central midfielder waiting to happen. "Ehm, sorry lads, he is not world class, he is not Cesc Fabregas, let me loan him again or sell him to fund a world class player" said Moyes.

More like "we have a set CM pair in Fellaini and Carrick, no room in that set up for young Nick. Another year in the Championship will do wonders for his resale".

There's a player in there, he's very much in the box to box mould, if you look at how bad our central midfield players were last season I think someone like powell deserves a crack at this club. We have signed herrera who is a proper central midfielder but theirs definitely room in the squad for powell. Cleverley and Carrick have alot to prove for me, Cleverley has had two indifferent seasons already. I agree with loaning players out for experience but not for 2 or 3 seasons at a time, you shouldn't need that long to make a judgement on a player.

He's done his loan-time, now is the moment to see if he can cut it in midfield. When Lampard started for West Ham he offered little or nothing in terms of positioning, defensive play etc. he was great at getting into the box and gradually learnt or was coached into becoming a rounded midfielder. Powell currently has the tools of an early Lampard (with a better shot) so he could be a fantastic weapon to have.

There's plenty of midfielders especially who have got to be in the last chance saloon. Cleverley, Young, Fletcher (all sympathies aside), Rooney (although I doubt LvG sees him that way), Nani, and some who've need to go, Treebeard and Anderson.

I agree with everyone up there ^
He's done well on loan and deserves a chance. Imagine Powell and Herrera behind Mata?
The good thing is he's only just turned 20 so even if he is loaned out again, it could still benefit him. I think we're dealing with sensationalist headlines thinking he'll be sold. I truly believe he'll make it.

Moyes, is that you, mate? . . . . . . . . . , If he plays as midfielder, of course he tracks back. I still remember his debut against Galatasaray as a midfielder.
