True Detective could well be one of the best shows I've ever watched. McConaughey's character, the nature of the relationship between Cohle & Hart, the cinematography and the ambiance created by an immense soundtrack puts it on another level. I have two episodes left. It's stunning, out of this world. Agree with your sentiments completely. It's up there with the very best shows I've ever seen. The writing is superb. The one take raid on the stash house is probably the best scene I've ever watched on tv. |

My missus downloaded ages ago then refuses to watch it. We've done this with many shows.eventually she cracks and we get addicted. Bloody women. True Detective, House of Cards, Breaking Bad. Top three over the last few years. Finished breaking bad. Downloaded House of cards on the same day. Same situation. Breaking bad I actually watched on my own which I almost never do because she's a bit of a TV addict and we like the same shows. |

Lads, if you 'True Dectective' I'd recommend you read some James Ellroy, particularly The Black Dahlia, which is my favourite book. Forget the wretched movie, the book is incredible. Then check out American Tabloid, about the Kennedy assassination. |
