Pretty sure all this is bollocks and he'll sign a new deal. For all the hate he's received (and rightfully so), who will we replace him with? Without his contributions this season we'd be in the relegation zone. People need to stop being rash, sure he's a cunt, we all know that, but it's not as if Welbeck or Pea would be able to make up his contribution in goals and RVP, up to now, has been either injured or out of form. If we could bring in Lewandowski, sell Rooney & bring in Gundogan/Koke & Matic, we'd be OK. But selling Rooney & bringing in a midfielder leaves us weakened. Throw the 50 mil at Gundogan and Rooney can Fuck off. We'd be much improved.

We're already short on goals, how would getting a midfielder (not an overly creative one at that) improve that.
We need Gundogan AND a striker if we're to sell Rooney.

Because then we could actually hold the ball and get it up to Van Persie and Chicharito. Rooney has only now scored as many as RVP who's been out for how long? We need a mid and a right winger.

We play Kagz more if we sell Rooney. That's where goals and assists should ideally come from. I agree that Rooney has been a major driving force and I like Rooney (the player), but for the progression of the team, he will have to go IMO.

Right.
Unless we change formation & get Reus or an attacking winger able to interchange up front we'd need to replace Rooney.

It will never happen. Or they could keep their £ 50 million, and give us Ronaldo.
However, if it were true, realistically we should snap their hands off and use the money to get a proper midfielder. Promote Wilson and Keane.

PHC is treated as some kinda irreplaceable messiah when he is just a self centered potato cunt. For starters, getting rid would mean we can move away from rigid 4-4-2 crap and play formations to get best out of squad. Also, Kags is well capable of 10+ goals and assists or we can buy a Mata, Reus, Drax etc. Modern day AM's are dime a dozen. SAF preferred to have 4 strikers does not mean DM has to follow same footprint. None of the top clubs play 2 CF's anymore. He is holding us back and about time we move on. Above all, it would put an end to nauseous phrase "but xyz plays in cunt's position" and pass up on the opportunity to sign Ozil I'm just sick of him..

Second time around I didn't care whether Rooney stayed or went. I really didn't care if he went to the Rent boys. Since staying I think he has contributed to the overall problems of the team. His 'revived'' tempo only shows he was a shit last season. If he attends the World Cup he will be shattered next season, he is also still injury prone, so it's no big deal to say goodbye to invest in the midfield.

Good point Phil. Rather than his form being due to him being played in his proper position it's far more to do with him being arsed this time around. Which speaks volumes.

My view for what it's worth, which is fuck all! Sell the cunt, use the money for a decent midfield player and get Kagawa into his proper position. It my also save the "P" a loyal player who to date has not demanded anything, well publicly at least... However whilst he is with us, may as well run him into the ground and use him as much as we can so he is super rested for the world cup

If we're really looking to flog him after this season why not put him in midfield next to Jones, tell him to do a job there that we know he can do and play Kagawa behind RVP?
Everybody wins. Well, everybody but Wayne. So yes, everybody.
