After this window so far and the apparent ditherer being Ed... I kinda feel a bit bad for Moyes. Chose Fellaini. No sympathy.

Absolutely. You watch that yesterday and you go 'move on CM and CB' now. You sign Benatia, a CB that would stab his own mum rather than let her score, and De Jong. 40 mill, get it done. Or else you've settled for a battle for 4th. And that's a return to Utd in the 80s. Agree Stew, Benatia would stab his Mum and kill his granny. Get him in Ed!!!

on second thought, contrary to what i said in the Falcao thread, i do take it back, Ed.
2 Defenders, 2 Midfielders and 2 WORLD CLASS forwards is a job well done, even if it was last minute. You got them over the line, Hat's off to you Sir!

Hmmm, this thread should be busier with the sound of humble pie eating.

I never lost faith in him but he deserved everything he got...he may have redeemed himself a bit but let's just wait until next summer when LVG has had a full season to work on targets then maybe the folks who criticized him can eat humble pie..but not just yet
Edit :I think when he goes about his business the way Chelsea did this summer then maybe the folks can truly forgive him

Does anyone think at any point somebody mentioned to Ed there was a 1,000+ strong petition to get him out of a job?
Baring how high up and busy these people are.
Imagine if he actually had the link sent to him and read it, would love to know.

It would not be beyond Ed, to now get DDG to sign a new 5 year deal, that really would be the coup de gras of this window!

Here lies the problem mate (unless its tongue in cheek). Believe in him, but don't set the bar too high, else brace for disappointment.
I said earlier, competition or not, last seasons' transfers are the last thing to blame on Ed. He got atleast 75% correct & he isn't disappointing this season either

I was sceptical of him, but not afraid to say I was wrong. All hail BIG ED!

This thread. Look at when it was started. Go back to the DDG thread when a handful of us argued against dropping him. I'm sure we could find a Fletcher thread similar. Ed had a nightmare first window, not even a world class piece of revisionism will change that. He's improved steadily ever since and has done extremely well so far this window. I take my hat off to him.

His first transfer window was a nightmare. But we also had a new manager, a pretty bad one too IMO.
He's doing much better than Gill now.
