We are dying fast - we all saw this coming when we started replacing the likes of Ronaldo (80 Million) with Valencia (14 m) and Tevez with an ageing horse owner. We finally bought a midfielder for 27m but sadly he's the most shambolic player I have ever seen - now we are not even replacing players!
What I can't fathom is how, the most profitable club in the world, who had their worst season in decades last year, has managed to start the season with a WORSE FUCKING LINE UP THAN LAST YEAR! - and also, we have signed the least number of players in the league!
If you don't replace world class players with world class players you get worse, if you don't replace players full stop the decline quickens. We are rapidly becoming a comfortable mid table side, albeit profitable enough for those fucking god ugly goons to make 200m from us when they fancy.
I knew this in 2005, but it's taken longer than expected, but we're going to get worse and worse until finally the glazers leave with what will be a tidy personal profit of about 1 billion. ( remember they put 0 pounds into the purchase) - it's not a popular opinion but we need to get worse quicker, historically for the club the quicker they leave the sooner we can recover and this 10 year period can be consigned to the chapter 'the leech years' when the most successful profitable club on the earth became a mid table embarrassment.

I agree 100% with you about the lack of transfer activity this summer, on our part being shocking. You get the feeling the club is trying to do things on the cheap. Our net spend in this transfer window has been £47 million, chelsea spent twice that and bought real quality. I get the feeling that the club is rudderless when it comes to acquiring the talent we need to compete for top 4 places never mind winning the league. Woodward is an excellent business man but he has proven to be inexperienced and incompetent when dealing with transfers. Can we afford to have an inexperienced man running our transfer dealings at this time?. The Vidal one is a good example. You simply put a deadline on it, can we sign him or not?, if we can't then you move on and target other players, instead we sit and stew over a player hoping if we negotiate long enough we might get a few million off his price, but in reality we are more likely to overpay in that situation.

Absolutely. You watch that yesterday and you go 'move on CM and CB' now. You sign Benatia, a CB that would stab his own mum rather than let her score, and De Jong. 40 mill, get it done. Or else you've settled for a battle for 4th. And that's a return to Utd in the 80s.

If LVG desperately wants vidal whu not bid something they cannot refuse. 50 mill and Nani = Instant improvement in our team and a massive step towards securing top 4. I just don't get it.

They won't spend the money. Or Ed is useless. It's one or the other. LVG's comments after the game proved the theory that he was the one holding things up was horse-shit. He needs players, he wants players, they aren't here. Work it out for yourselves what's going on.

Despite what Wooden-top said about the bundles of cash they have to spend it's not him who has hold of the wallet,

Anyone actually believe that if this puppet is removed that any new puppet would start signing players every week for record deals?
I cannot defend Woodward as his public appearances are few and far between, and I do not know the man. However, I believe he does exactly what the owners ask of him, ie get money in, don't spend too much.
If the owners tell Ed to spend, he will spend, if they tell him not to spend, he won't. He's a businessman,, his pocket matters most. So whatever needs to be done for him to keep the job and keep making money, he will do it.

Well then he shouldn't come out and say the manager has the resources to compete with the best clubs because you look like an idiot when you constantly fail to get the players the manager wants, its an insult to supporters intelligence.

It helps get the share prices up and interests the sponsorships. If that's what he's asked to do, he's doing a fine job. Considering he's probably rolling in money without a care in the world, I think we're the idiots for believing him in the first place.

After this window so far and the apparent ditherer being Ed... I kinda feel a bit bad for Moyes.

The quarterly accounts to 31 March 2014 showed a cash balance of £34 million. Since then we've signed Shaw and Herrera for £60 odd million. The only way to purchase more players is to use the revolving credit facility which they haven't used since 2009. One things for certain. It will all come out with LVG in charge because he won't cover the Glazers arses Like Fergie, Moyes and Woodward.

To be fair though I think history will show that Van Gaal will be the better manager. And you probably were right. I still hope Moyes will do well.
