Derby avoided relegation by a point. Talksport was breaking to it during the Leeds game, real up and down battle!

Rooney looks like he might be about to get Derby relegated. Looking at the teams coming up there are none I can get excited about. Norwich, shite. Watford, shite. Brentford, Swansea, Barnsley or Bournemouth? Yuck yuck yuck yuck. Rotten season all round. Watford just need to disappear, awful club. And I've never forgiven Swansea for hiring that yank manager that pronounced it The 'Prem-Ear' league. They can fuck off. Don't care one way or another about the rest. At least Brentford would be a fresh face.

Shite.

I once got them all the way into the Champions league after starting in League 2. Had late career Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink banging in the goals for me. If nothing else, Brentford's recruitment has been really good over the last few years. I wonder how Newcastle fans feel about Ivan Toney become a goal machine after leaving them. He's scored 60 odd goals since they spunked 40 million on Joelinton.

This is insane -
Middlesbrough defender Marc Bola has been charged with misconduct by the FA over a nine-year-old social media post made when he was 14.
The charge relates to a post which "is insulting and/or abusive and/or improper", including a reference to sexual orientation.
The alleged post by 23-year-old Bola was made on 14 April 2012.
Bola, who has made five Championship appearances for Boro this season, has until 20 September to respond.
Should the case go to a hearing, an independent regulatory commission will take the circumstances of the post into account.
In March West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen was charged by the FA over a tweet written when he was aged 15 in 2012 which contained a racist term.
Bowen, who apologised for the post, was given a warning by the FA a month later and told to attend an FA education course.

If politicians were treated with the same way as others for things they've done in their past, we'd be much better off.

It’s bonkers that people in all walks of life are being called out on things they did years and even decades ago. It’s fair enough for the likes of Jimmy saville etc. but the way it’s going we could see people fired from jobs in their forties for something they said in their teens. im now in my fifties and back in 1992 I went on a Christmas works do at Bernard mannings embassy club. The place was rammed with people laughing at his well known material. my point is that if that night nearly 30 years ago had been filmed there could have been a future police officer or MP in the audience and would they be expected to resign or be sacked for just being there?

I was fortunate enough to grow up prior to social media taking off. People say a lot of awful shit when they’re kids because they don’t understand the power of their words and these days they’ve got the extra albatross of being too immature to understand what should and shouldn’t go on social media. Speaking as a man in his 30’s, the playground talk throughout secondary school was a lot of what you’d now look at as abhorrent homophobic slurs. The word “gay” chucked around for anything kids didn’t like, “F” bombs were particularly cool during the rise of Eminem. Those kids are now adults and 99% of them wouldn’t dream of speaking like that. If you write someone off for something they said as a 14 year old, you are removing their right to learn and grow as a human being. It’s a thin line really with the whole cancel culture thing. If the person in question is now an adult and still standing behind what they said a decade ago, then that’s a different story. But in most cases surely the public would accept an apology and a basic display of regret for something born out of immaturity?

Rooney might pull off a miracle and keep Derby up. If he does, he should be getting every manager award going, worldwide.
