A deadwood clear-out has been log overdue - Young with his wages, Fellaini and Anderson should be top of the list. Sell Chica as he deserves his chance elsewhere. Keep Shinji and TC23 as he can be useful squad player. Oh and sell Rooney I agree about Cleverley. He's still only 24, and last season should not be held against him or (pretty much) anyone who had to play under Moyes. The season before, at 22, he was just coming into his own, and SAF deployed him as a box to box runner. Cleverley has not hit his peak yet and I think if he had stayed he would improve massively playing with these new signings and with LVG's philosophy. I love Carrick's calmness on the ball, his ability to play a pass anywhere first time, and his long-range passing ability, so besides Carrick I think Cleverley is the best English midfielder anywhere. Chalk this one up to another Moyes fuckup. When Moyes started playing Fellaini in Tom's position, that shattered his confidence, and then having to wait 5, or 6 matches to play, and then being paired with a 4th choice midfielder - well no wonder Cleverley wasn't stellar last season. Good luck to Cleverley at Aston Villa. Also going to miss Chicharito, even though he was not going to fit into LVG's plans. I remember how much sincere joy he expressed at having been called by SAF, and he has always worn his heart on his sleeve. It's also not Chicharito's fault no one can get the ball to him. Still, I know he'll be a big hit in his cameos at Real Madrid, best of luck to him as well. I never saw Kagawa play at Dortmund so I never really got onboard with him, but again, if he's back where he'll thrive, all the best. Beyond that, I'm glad to see Nani gone, and want Young, Valencia, Fellaini, Fletcher, Welbeck, Anderson, to join him.
