I have a soft spot in my heart for the veterans like Rio and Giggs. If they retire, great, if not, keep them around, but use them only in can't lose situations. Our biggest issues are the younger players that have never, and will never be United quality. Cleverly, Welbeck, Chica, Young, Ando, Bebe. They all have to go. They could all easily land on their feet as a mid-table team starter, but they can't do it for us. Those players have all been given multiple seasons to show what they can do. Its time to give that opportunity to the likes of Powell and Zaha.

out in summer: anderson young evra rio(retirement/mls payday) giggs(retirement) fletcher(retirement)rooney(will go in the summer in my opinion) i think those are the likely departures in the summer, giggs and fletcher may prove me wrong and continue. i don't think any other first team players will go as the club will be cautious about moving too many on in one go. i didn't mention the likes of bebe and macheda, they are not first team players so not of any consequence. having seen him play, with this guy coming off a year long injury, are we really advocating the removal of one of the few home grown captain material CM's that we have? seriously? the only scenario under which Fletcher leaves this club is by his own volition. anything otherwise would be to totally discredit the work he has put in b4 his injury, and subsequent to it to get back to this stage. HE (along with Carrick), of all of the current CM crop is the last to leave IMHO.

Nani's just signed a new contract. He's not going anywhere. To retain value, if there is a big enough offer, he'll be let go.

Sell / retire: Young Anderson Giggs Rio Evra
Retain as squad players: Cleverley Welbeck Vidic Lindegaard Fletcher
Last chance (asses until the end of the season, if still shit, get rid. For Kagawa, he's been poor too often and he's very rarely going to play in his preferred position. I don't think Hernandez will stay and sit on the bench, plus I think he is dispensable): Nani Valencia Fellaini Buttner Kagawa Hernandez
Promote (within 1 / 2 years): Wilson Powell Pereira Lingard W Keane
Core of the team (that's if both Rooney / RvP stays, wouldn't surprise me if one of them left): DDG Jones New midfielder Januzaj Rooney RvP

I think he has been very good recently, but we'll sign a new CB in January / the summer, and if we spend a lot on one such as Mangala / Garay / Zapata / whoever else, they won't come in as backup. Kagawa is a difficult one, a LOT of people stick up for him, but that's mainly because of hatred towards Rooney and preventing him from playing as #10. Fact of the matter is, Kagawa has been poor for us. He's had the odd good game and showed encouragement at times, but far too often he has gone missing. I wouldn't have a problem if we sold him and replaced with someone who can play on the left a lot more effectively, e.g. Reus. Plus, I think Januzaj will eventually be our main #10 when Rooney either plays up top, is injured, or has left.

Immediately Sell / retire: Young Anderson Giggs Rio Evra Fellaini Rooney Fabio (simply because I'm convinced the boat has sailed with him unfortunately) Buttner Nani Macheda Petrucci Bebe
Last chance/Sell if right opportunity comes: Welbeck Fletcher (if the illness gets him third time, it will be time to hang the boots) Valencia
Retain as squad players: Vidic (losing both Rio and Vida at once would be very bad decision making) Lindegaard Cleverley Zaha Carrick (we must start phasing him out next 1-2 years. Too dependent on a 32 year old currently)
Promote (within 1 / 2 years): Henriquez W Keane Powell Tunnicliffe Lingard M Keane Vermijl Varela Cole Blackett
Core of the team: DDG Jones Evans Smalling Rafael Kagawa Hernandez RvP
Buy January/Summer: LB - Ricardo Rodriguez / Coentrao (little chance now contract is expanded) / Shaw - Stay away from Baines CM - Any 2 from Gundogan / Koke / Song / Strootman / Sneider (if under 10 mil) / Matuidi (if under 10 mil) / Bender / Khedira / Matic - Stay away from Guarin / Cabaye / Witsel CB - Stay away from Garay / Mangala / Zapata - Not good enough to waste a chance for one of our youth players like M Keane getting a chance. Only Hummels / Subotic and someone in their skill bracket and experience would be good enough signings. AM/Wings - Reus / Lucas / Ribeiro (if under 15 mil) / Shaqiri / Volland / Draxler / Firmino / Pjanic / Barkley - Stay away from Lallana / Rakitic / Gaitan Strikers - If RVP and Pea stay, we're good. Welbz, Henriquez and W Keane will be cover.

My observation.
Firstly 'immediately' selling or retiring 13 players, most certainly isn't going to be happening right now, not even short term, in my view.
I'm also sceptical that 10 players will be breaking through the ranks within two years.

The OP, with subject BIG CLEAR-OUT, is asking about our opinions, hence it is, well kinda BIG.
