Thought I could as well put this here.
Anyone watching the Masters? I love this Major, one of my favourite things to watch this time of year. Our Rors is still in it but some way off the lead right now.
To be honest, my main concern is Phil Mickelson being outside the cut at the moment!

I have played golf off and on for about twenty years and just gave my clubs away. I took it up after playing footy. A pro gave me five lessons at the beginning and that determined my game. We began with the 7 iron, the easiest of all clubs. Once you get the stance, swing and eye coordination right it all pretty much falls into place. Don't try to take the skin off the ball, just relax and play without pressure. When I last played I did a course with just the 7 and a putter and got a very decent score.
Of course there are the guys with whack away woods and it can be very macho at times. But - the most enjoyable game was with a bunch of lads, a buggy, a cool box of beers and the warm sunshine. Try it in Mexico with a pro who might be cheaper than UK and then do a round. It might be very hot so just take care because out on the course there is often little shelter and the 19th is a fuck of a long way for a beer.

Update!
Ok, slowly getting into it. Been given loads of free clubs, bought some clothes, been driving range a couple of times, bought some stuff to help with putting and got lessons booked for Saturday. Added plus that my boss plays and I'm having a game with him later. Sucking up to the boss!

Anyone watching the Masters? Jordan Speith is a great young player. Impressed with him.
Was gonna have an e/w bet on Els at 175/1 but decided against it. He's currently 3rd! Not happy. Backed Garcia at 45/1 (favourite player) e/w. He's off to a decent start. Rory quite a bit behind. Woods still struggling but better. Wish sky sports would stop putting so much focus on him though.

Must be hard for them. Probably the greatest ever golfer and he's still young. Shows what confidence does in sport. I'd watch a Woods docco.

I like golf, but I'm not in like with it.
It's always been too expensive for me to really be able to play regularly, that and it takes time.
That being said, of all the sports I've played (incl. Rugby, Football, Tennis, Cricket and a few dabbles) golf is probably the one that has evoked the most anger, haha.

High school division champ. Golf is easily the most expensive sport to Play too. Too many yuppies play.

They were saying on sky that it's technical. It isn't. He hasn't been the same since he was caught out as a serial player! Golf is definitely a frustrating sport but it's massively addictive. Going on a golfing weekend soon and i played a $300 course in Mexico last year (came included in the hotel i stayed at). Was brilliant.

On a six month hiatus from the game, just playing to much and not getting better. Picked up sticks last week, will watch the Masters this weekend and be right back into it. Love the Masters. Spieth needs to bulk up and add some yardage, he does that, he will compete with Rory and some of the guys at the top.
