well, I kinda, sorta agree. What place does the FBI have investigating an orginasiation that isn't even based in the US? Don't get me wrong, FIFA have had this coming but I'm not sure who decided the FBI should be involved Apparently if ANY suspected transaction/bribe etc,etc was paid in Dollars, they have a right/obligation under their financial currency laws to investigate. Imagine if Britain was investigating it? They would all get compensation for infringing their 'human rights'!

UEFA should grow a pair ,leave FIFA, and expand the European Championship, can you imagine the World Cup without ANY European country?,mind you sideshow Bob & his team may have a chance then! FIFA and emperor Palpertine cannot be allowed to continue in their present vein. Re the Quatar and Russia bids/awards,how can it be that 7 or 8 of FIFA exec committee (out of 20 or so) have pled guilty to bribery/corruption charges and yesterday FIFA blithely announcing that there will be no new voting process to legitimise same? The whole edifice should be brought tumbling down, preferably on top of Blatter and the entire exec committee. On the same subject, did anyone see that David Gill is going to resign from the exec committee if Blatter continues after the vote tomorrow-which he is (almost) nailed-on to win? Brilliant decision.

I can't wait for FIFA 16 to come out! I heard they are going to have a prison career mode, you have to build up your guy by working out and then you get to choose what gang you join. The brown envelope mode is supposed to be the most realistic yet. Spooky.

This has the feel for me of two huge scandals of the past...
Watergate and the Enron affair...
They both stared off with issues that were significant but not empire shattering but as has been alluded to earlier, people get flipped and turn on others...the more that get implicated, the better chance there is of Blatter getting caught up in it...his comments about welcoming the investigations echo pretty much what Nixon said in the early stages of Watergate...and the Enron guys thought they were too clever...
Hold yer hats people, this could be a bumpy ride!

It should never have gone this far in the first place. UEFA should have had the balls to say, 'Right, this whole thing stinks. We're taking our teams out.'
Watch the sponsors change their tune when they realise the likes of Ronaldo and their darling Espana won't be in the World Cup anymore.

For some reason Blatter reminds me of Robert Mugabe...everyone knows he is bad but nobody appears to be able to do anything about it... ...and yeah, the sponsors could have a massive influence on this if they only had the balls...but perhaps they are implicated...how do you get a gig like the WC? Maybe by spreading a little dough to smooth the wheels... ...allegedly...

He will get re-elected. Has most (if not all) of Africa & CONMEBOL's backing & most (except for a few) of Asia, Oceania & CONCACAF.
Only Europe (except for Russia & Spain), Canada, US, N.Zealand, Australia & Jordan seem guaranteed to vote for his opponent.
Not surprising that all the ones backing him come from places as corrupt as fuck. C'est la vie.

Some talk today of UEFA pulling their teams out, and the money that goes with it if he gets re-elected. Not sure if they're legit quotes from Platini, but a few papers are running with it. Platini won't back it up. He voted for Qatar.
