reality is they should all be arrested by the FBI. non of them are credible, FIFA is a gold mine and all the candidates are just there to get a larger slice of the pie rather than handouts from sepp. would have more respect for the FA if they voted for no one

having read Figo's statement, i have to admit i admire the dude a little more.
he surely is putting what he believe's out there, and he don't seem too concerned about being diplomatic about it. good on him!

Figo's statement:
"Today was another dark day in Zurich. FIFA has lost, but above everything, football has lost and everyone who truly cares about it has lost too.
Instead of what Mr Blatter said, the happenings of last Wednesday were not bad for football: they were bad for FIFA and for all the responsible that lead the organisation until now.
Football is not guilty but is the governing body's leaders, who should regulate it, that have no integrity or honesty.
Mr Blatter had a very cynical reaction when he said that he couldn't control everyone. It offends everyone's intelligence," he added. "These persons, whom Mr Blatter has promoted through years, turned, with him, FIFA in to a decadent organisation.
If Mr Blatter were minimally concerned about football, he would have given up the re-election. If he has a minimal of decency, he will resign in the next few days.
I regret nothing. I fought, I persisted, I made an effort for the regeneration of this organisation that has to change course. We live in an emergency situation and football is the damaged party on this.
I've denounced what I directly lived. I would do it again. And I remain available to help FIFA rebuild after this."

As I've said earlier,Platini-who's already sort of threatened "further action" and UEFA should now take steps to disengage from FIFA and concentrate on expanding the European Championships. We surely can't fall back into line after this latest debacle.

Like the proverbial dog with a bone. I have a vision of that little Swiss fuck in an orange jump suit in GITMO arrested as an "enemy combatant" or rendered to a black site somewhere! Wouldn't that be grand?

Wouldn't that be grand? That would be justice. That man is a disgrace if all the allegations against him are true, such a shame the game is so corrupt, not surprised he is at the head of it all. Need the foot soldiers that were arrested the start squealing that's the best way to catch Sepp

The only agency in the US that does that sort of stuff is the CIA or everyone's beloved NSA without anyone knowing. The only way they could possibly get Blatter if he was connected to the crimes and they have hard evidence of it. Although, he could stay within an embassy and not be extradited to another country like what the wikileaks guy did. The best thing now is the Europe creates there own organization with North America and other Western Countries because without us, people will watch a world cup finale of Sudan vs China. Also, Visa and budwieser needs to back out too.

Like i said before I'd actually be more likely to watch a tournament hosted by them in a new format. The World Cup would never disappear forever but i would be great to look forward to something else for a change. And piss off international breaks during the season please.

It doesn't sound to far fetched of an idea though. Fifa as we all know are not a truthful organization. The US and England are the two which are most vocal at the moment agasint Fifa. US arresting them and England with the FA making statements/threats. England though having more pulling power in Europe, I could see a Western Cup or something of that matter. David gill is going to resign which is huge. We need the US, Aussieland, England and the rest of Europe, Israel and a couple of other countries work together to make this happen. It would be interesting to see how this plays out.

I'm not a fan of this Prince Ali bin al-Hussein either, to be fair. Seems odd Figo and van Praag would move aside to let this guy have a free run at Blatter. Jordan?! That powerhouse of global football, eh? This guy forced through changes in the rules to permit burkha's in woman's football. Not exactly what I want from the most powerful man in the game. The best outcome is that Blatter wins today, and Platini actually follows through on his doomsday UEFA threat, as well as the likes of Visa and other FIFA sponsors showing some bollocks for a change. Then Blatter is either forced to resign or UEFA set up a new invitational World Cup/governing body and make Platini/Figo/somebody who actually has a clue about playing football professionally the head of it. Probably they knew that Blatter is assured of atleast 1/3rd (if not 1/2) of the votes. If they had not moved aside, it would have cannibalized Ali's slightest chance of winning by splitting up the remaining 2/3 into 3 parts (Figo, Praag, Ali), thereby helping Blatter's cause.
