I'd absolutely agree IF we were playing with out and out wingers. It would then be a major issue since Young, Nani and Valencia aren't exactly brilliant. If true, I can only imagine that LVG has only been playing 3-5-2 as we have a lack of players required to play something different. I think it's that. His entire coaching career has been based on 4-3-3. Exactly, it's 4-3-3 if he had a choice. He only played 3-5-2 with Holland at the WC because of Strootman's injury and he's persisted with it because of the dire state of our squad.

Di Maria can work centrally I believe. Drop Herrera back and put Di Maria in front of him. Ah I don't know, just sign someone, please. Di Maria proved he can do this last year

In fairness, I don't think 3 at the back works in the prem.

Yes he can play in a middle 3 but buying him creates problems. 1. Herrera is supposed to be the creative midfielder so what happens to him? 2. Adnan can be just as good or better than di Maria aswell as consistent. 3. We need midfielders (Central). 4. We need an experienced centerback that can organise and throw in some nasty.

I agree we'd still need another CM and a CB

Good player, but I have a couple of questions. WHERE ARE OUR NEW DEFENDERS?! WHERE IS OUR NEW MIDFIELDER?! It would be another way of deflecting away from our major issues. Plus LVG seems to only play with wing backs. It could potentially be a signing that isn't a pressing concern unless he changes formation again. Have to agree with this, whilst Di Maria is a great player, we're only in for him because he's a stellar name and because it detracts away from what we really need. It's almost as if Ed is like "shit man, the fans are getting restless and want a big name signing like I promised, fuck it, lets just buy one from Real Madrid and hope they go away" any man and his dog knows we need fucking CB's and while I would take Di Maria everyday of the week, right now we don't need him.

I'm not entering into the issue Di Maria, because I'll lose focus in the game,” said Carlo Ancelotti today.
“I do not know what he has decided, just know that he is ready to play tomorrow, and until August 31 will be here in principle. If from there he stays or is no longer, we will think about it later."

If his signing would mean that we mayget to play w/o Rooney i am all for it but it won't. It would still be that our Midfield is wank and teams can waltz thru it. If we are to play a 4-2-3-1 then yes he fits in but that ain't LvG's preferred setup + it would mean that either one of Rooney or RvP only gets to play or it'd be Rooney as a No.10 ( hell no pls) it would put further doubts on Mata, Kagawa, Adnan , Lingard and where they may play. Hell if we have so much money why not put it on Vidal or Carvalho or hell deal with Levy and Get Vertonghen in may be him and holtby for that combined money. this is crazy Ed at work. De Jong/ Khedira/ Bender/ Howedes are just some who'd be available for half that money and in positions we need IMHO. But then again i ain't in a cock wanking show off competition so what do i know

We may need to calm down before we declare this place the happening bunker:
L'Equipe: Real Madrid agree to loan Di Maria to PSG if they buy him for €65m in a year. PSG want to pay less & 1st need to sell Lavezzi
