Where is all this Adnan as No 10 coming from? He is the only winger of note we got! Besides, we are already overloaded with 10s. Adnan isn't really that effective on the wing. He seems to prefer to cut inside to going around on the outside, and I don't think he links that well with our fullbacks on overlapping runs. His crossing is ok considering the other winger we have, but I'd rather see him in the middle playing short passes and shooting from distance. Although I'd much rather see him on the wing than seeing Kagawa there.

Annan can play anywhere in the attacking third, time will tell whether he muscles up and settles as a winger or slots in as a 10. But that is the least of our worries.
Di Maria has been used in midfield by Madrid before I think, and he certainly has the pace and stamina to be box to box, he might not be a long term option in that position (I think LVG has a man crush on Strootman and will bring him in in January) but he will be a great addition to the squad. The balance of the squad is going to have to change drastically over the next few windows, we are insanely top heavy and completely devoid of players in other positions.

Adnan is the only player we have, until we sign Di Maria and Reus obviously, that has any effect on the wings. He's quick, skilful, willing to take on defenders and makes the commit. Any other player just stands on the wing with the ball and waits for the FB to make the overlap, where Adnan just makes something happen. Think you need to give your head a wobble mate!

Granted he won't be an orthodox hug the touchline winger and that can only be a good thing imo. Variety and intelligence to mix it up. I also recall Adnan delivering a few peach of crosses from LW. As for not linking with fullbacks? It's bloody impossible if our RBs are fucking Smalling and Jones who are both out of sync with themselves.

Yeah, what I mean he's not really in the same mold as Giggs. Becks and Valencia in terms of keeping width and doubling up with the fullbacks. Ronaldo, and for a while Nani, could do both equally well, but Adnan, Shinji and Juan Mata all seem to drift more inside when playing on the left. We didn't really have a threat on the left at all last season except what Evra was able to offer, which doesn't really go well with the traditional 442 style of Man Utd. But with the new system, hopefully Shaw will be able to run the left flank single handedly. Januzaj's defending is another reason I prefer him in a more central ACM(10) role.

Being widely reported in the Spanish media, that we have finally lodged a bid for him. Would be incredible to think that we would not try to sign him, after LVG named him directly.

Sergi Domínguez @futbolsergi Follow Carlo Ancelotti doesn't want to offload Di Maria - holding tight. Man United pushing for the move. Player prefers England more than France.
Sergi Domínguez @futbolsergi Follow Player intention is same since last season: to leave. Ancelotti doesn't want to sell him. Perez wants to as he wants to fund for Falcao.
Sergi Domínguez @futbolsergi Follow La Sexta reporting Real Madrid aren't able to match Di Maria's wage demands of €8m-per-year.

Fuck Paulie lets hope this happens. This would be the biggest signing in the PL all summer A statement of intent and some much needed quality and pace to our attack.

Did you read the article fully? Caught Offside are saying 'within 48 hours'.
I'm sceptical verging on not believing a word of it.

We might get one more transfer in before the window closes. Who do we need more, Vidal or DiMaria? Both would be great additions to the team but I think Vidal is needed more. We have promising starlets coming through like Reece James and Jesse Lingard, and a couple seasons ago it was Nick Powell, and I would really love to see these kids get into the first team rather than becoming a "team" that buys star players every year, like the noisy neighbors or those in SW1. DiMaria would be going for the same price bandied about for Gareth Bale, and 20MM less than Ronaldo. Is he really one of the best 5 players in the world, because he'd have to be for that much money.

I'd sign for Di Maria and Blind/Song right now and be satisfied
