Seems he wants to stay...
“I’m very content here,” he said. “The people have a lot of affection for me. “It’s what I value most and I have that here.” Despite giving United fans reassurance for now, Di Maria has admitted an ambition to return to his native Argentina to play for old club Rosario Central where his career began. “The next step will be to return to Rosario Central, another giant of the game!”

Just had a quick glance at Di Maria's season.
For someone who (according to some) is pure shite and should be sold he's got 3 league goals and 10 assists so far, meaning he's been directly involved in 30% of our goals (44) this season.

Certainly not shit - just being used in the wrong way IMO If our record signing and only truly world class outfield player is a flop then we'll get a ton of shit from the media and other fans and I can do without that And I don't want him getting the hump and leaving to show his class elsewhere Someone put up some stats for Giggsy a while back and he was regularly responsible for well over 30% of our goals and no one called him shite

He's class, we just need to mold the side to get the best out of him and the rest of the top players we've got.

We need to build a team/squad around Di Maria.
Watching the Swansea game on Saturday, and the commentator was saying this Rooney's team now, and shockingly, it is. Rooney's always better when he's had to defer to someone, Van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo, Van Persie, if we could get Wayne to do all Di Maria's running for the next 18 months or so, we should see the best of him.

Yeah, relevant stats.
Next you'll be bringing out Downing's assists to the assistee stats, eh?
I mean, the only stats that count to me (for attack-minded players) are assists and goals.
Again though, stats don't tell you everything, but if you need stats to be convinced of Di Maria's abilities then I give up.
Also, people complaining about his inaccuracies should remember he's a winger - inconsistency is part of their game and it's through the sheer numbers of these attempts that they're effective.
And bloody hell, Angel can be effective.
Wouldn't be surprised to see the hypocrisy go even deeper, with some of his critics probably wanting Nani back.
I mean.
(Not attacking you by the way, simply the recent deluded criticism)
