Welbeck's second reminds me of the chance he missed against Bayern. Better composure and a confident strike. With the goals by our other departees this last week, I do sense there is something a tad wrong inside the house of greatness.

Though Welbz might score more than he did with us, I still think we will not miss him. If he performs, fair play to him, I will eat the humble pie.
I hope I am wrong as he is a likeable character

Er... I just realized Jones is injured again. I stopped checking on the game when it became clear England were ruining my accy. Anyway, go on Tyler lad. I'd say he deserves to partner Rojo in defense ahead of Evans on current form. There was a time when I'd be worried when Jones got injured. Not now. Blackett is more than capable. Happy for him. Next to Rojo he would do great I think.

I'd be happy for Tyler to fill in at wingback until Shaw is fit again - Young is a disaster defensively and is 100% predictable when he gets the ball wide - cuts inside every time - at least Tyler can defend too and decent going forward
Evans is yet another that never progressed - makes less mistakes than he used to but never actually became a better defender IMO

Shaw should be back for Sunday, along with Rojo.

What really surprised me is how quick he is, he can flat out motor along. I can still see the play where he ran Ronaldo down and forced a ball off him for the goal kick, I thought sure Ronnie was gonna burn the net until Blackett caught him from behind. He is already a beast and when you look at him, he isn't filled out yet, could add another 20 lbs of muscle across chest and shoulders.

Taking my boy to his first match tonight, shame it's not gonna be a United game, and only one United player is gonna be playing (wonderbollocks), But should be good, hopefully we'll bag a few and he will catch the bug.
Anyone have any tips on the public transport round there, I'll be going from central London, Waterloo etc

www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/29563034Good article on England and why thsi group could be a group of "death" but not for the traditional reasons. I agree with a lot of the points especially in regards to Wembley. It looks terrible for the national team when the stadium is half empty and the FA was very shortsighted when they locked England in Wembley until 2018. England needs to be a travelling side that way the whole of the country gets to watch them and it would maintain some kind of an atmosphere at the games. Wembley is sucking the life out of these qualifiers.

The atmosphere was shite, I had grown men behind me, that when the San Marino goalkeeper made a routine stop, they shouted out, 'no way, he just used both hands, awesome"

Not the uninspiring opposition, the mediocrity of squad selection, the dull, insipid manager, or the dull, insipid performances on the pitch. It's because the games are being played at one of the best stadiums in world football ... I agree it's ridiculous for England to play every single game at Wembley though, but the FA have to pay for the thing somehow.

I enjoyed some of the OT england games and I always had a good time in Cardiff back when we actually got to FA Cup Finals.

It's the standard of the opposition that kills it for me, too many games that are essentially meaningless.
Imagine if United had to play the teams from the qualifying rounds of the F.A cup, that's pretty much what England did last night. In my opinion, there should be a pre-qualifying tournament for the Euros, where teams like San Marino play each other to get in the the qualifier proper, that way they would get some meaningful football against teams they may have a chance against, build some confidence and maybe get more natives interested in football, and actually take it up and improve the selection options in the future.
Getting spanked every game does nobody any good, it'd not even like it's good for England beating those kind of teams anywhere between 5 and 10 nil
