I voted Hummels if we can only bring 1 in. The need for someone at the back to steady the ship is massive as Evans Jones and Smalling are injury prone, and not good enough really to be Utd players. Evans 26 and Smalling at 24-25 are probably not going to improve enough (if at all) to be Utds back line for the next 6-7 years. I dont think Jones will either, but he still has youth on his side. Although I picked Hummels sometimes a foreign player cant cut it in the more physical Premier League, although Germanys league is more closer to ours than say the Spanish or Italian.

I voted for A. N. Other.............. namely Ryan Shawcross
Capable, strong, good in the air, great positional sense, reads the game well, always fit, tons of premiership experience and a leader among men who would marshall our defence, in short a bloody good defender.

My cousin is a steward at OT and said Howedes name is doing the rounds around OT so maybe something could be in the pipeline. They havent heard of Hummels being mentioned though, but that is only whats been mentioned by other staff and it hasnt been openly said by LVG. You know what rumours are like

if its a defender then varane for me. provided he is fit and the rumours aren't true and real would take 18-20 million.
tall, strong, fast, young bags of talent and potential. also reads the game pretty well for someone who hasn't played that many games.
the fast he has all that pace and game reading makes me think he is well suited to the premiership.
as for the midfield then just give louis what he wants in strootman

He's worth at least what Rio was worth when we signed him from leeds. In my opinion he's worth more at this stage of his career. The kid has everything! According to the Metro, a bid has been submitted for Hummels.
I suspect they are repeating twitter shite.

A few years ago it was Hummels, he's already injury prone and seems to have a loose moment in him in big games.
