18-20mil for varane would be absolute daylight robbery for real. He's worth at least what Rio was worth when we signed him from leeds. In my opinion he's worth more at this stage of his career. The kid has everything! But he's not a dominant CB like what we really need right now, so we'd still need another signing to complete the defence. honestly i don't see why he should cost more considering real are not playing him, ramos and pepe are the preferred choice. the guy can be dominant the way rio was, its not all about the vidic type domination, players like jones if fit can do that all day, varane brings calm and rolls royce defending as arry would say. i'd honestly take him over hummels as i feel he compliments what we have better. i just think what were mostly crying out for in defence is a leader to marshall the rest of them. We're also looking for CBs that can actually pass a ball but we've looked so ragged in defence I think we need an organiser more. The reason I think he should cost more is potential. The fact he's not playing at real isn't really down to him. They have 2 senior defenders ahead of him. But with someone his age you don't pay for the player as he is right now, you pay for what he will become. |

Varane is having a good today ATM. I'd give my left nut to get Varane in the next 6 months I changed my vote from Strootman to Varane purely because I don't think the Strootman deal will be done in January - he won't prove his fitness in time and as someone said earlier Varane just isn't getting much game time this season and will be happy to move now |

Is it just me that doesn't get the huge hype over Varane? I understand he's a top talent but isn't that it?
And I'm worried, don't see why Valdes would leave Barca to sit on a bench. Surely he'd be leaving for first team football...? Unless it's part of his rehabilitation and is doing LvG a favour while he doesn't have much else to do
