A PR whoring club being forced to do the right thing by overwhelming public pressure. Good. If thats the case then I am fine with it however I have read that the threats took on a more sinister nature. |

That could also mean that the indivuduals that received the threats didnt want to pursue it. Honestly I think people who are against Ched Evans playing are going to shoot themselves in the foot, all the attention this has received will eventually start to make people feel sorry for him. |

Plus there is that "lad" population who still maintain his innocence and then you have people like Harry Redknapp coming out and defending him. |

What rape victim do you know of is quoted as saying along the lines of asking Ched for oral sex?
I'm not getting into this on here but a big factor for me is the woman woke up in the morning, went downstairs to get borrow a phone to get her mum to pick her up. While down there she asked what happened the night before and they told her she was upstairs with a couple of lads, embarrassed of course which is understandable she just got on with her day. Went to work and got on with it all, then got told the lads were actually very rich footballers.... She then made a complaint.
I think she is degrading rape victims. Show me a raper in person for 5 minutes and he won't be a fucking problem to anyone again. I believe Ched Evans isn't a rapist. Just an unethical cheating arsehole.
I have a lot more to add but really I can't be bothered getting into a stand off with people on here
Edit: I've also not seen anyone actually reply to the re. Luck McCormick, Lee Hughes case and where was the bandwagon mob for both of those cases. Both vile, genuine black and white cases with deaths and both tried to hide/showed no remorse. McCormick is still captain at Plymouth. When was his name last in the media?

The problem with cases like this is that it eventually turns men like Evans into the victim while the actual victim is ignored by both the press and social media.
The subsequent events of this case raise questions over the administration of justice. Evans was committed, served his time and has been released. Under these circumstances he should be allowed to continue with his career as an important part of his rehabilitation. HOWEVER, like former teachers and lecturers under the same circumstances they find it almost impossible to continue their careers. Given the high profile of these kinds of cases surely if the principle of rehabilitation is to be adhered to, then convicts should be retrained for an alternative career and that should be part of the sentence - irrespective of appeals.
Personally I don't want to see Evans grace any pitch, unless his appeal is successful. However, I also don't like the idea of imposing sentences without the prospect of rehabilitation, especially in cases of rape and the potential for repeat offenses.
