Still too many to choose from to narrow it down to a 5 - would take your 5 and add RVN and maybe Rio in his prime and obviously Ronnie too Have too agree with Max. Whenever any one puts a question forward like this one you naturally think of United players. Cantona too me is my first choice, but it would be better asking the best 10 players. Even then that would be a hard one. Ronaldo is a world class act and we made him but I would put Giggs in front of him because he retired from United and is still with us the same as Scholes who retired but never played for another club, just like Cantona. 1-Cantona 2-Scholes 3-Giggs 4-Schmiechel 5-Ruud Van Then again, I have just found this on YouTube. This made me laugh.

I only had five spots to work with. Ronaldo and Henry are lucky to get in. Well then it should be Giggs Giggs Giggs Giggs Giggs Giggs wasn't a better player than Paul Scholes though. Even Giggs says so.

it depends what you mean by "best". are we talking individual talent, or does the talent have to be accompanied by success and medals? two very different lists.
if you're talking medals, the only 3 teams to have had a period of domination are united, chelsea and arsenal. dominant chelsea have always been a team effort rather than spectacular individuals.
in no particular order: - bergkamp - vieira - keane - giggs - scholes
individual talent (excluding those above): - cantona - ginola - le tissier - gerrard - di canio

I'd always put Eric top of any list - he was the final piece in Fergie's jigsaw and was the catalyst that set us on the road of domination - he inspired players and fans alike Everyone else that came along came after the foundation was set

Hmm all United would be. 1. Cantona 2. Scholes 3. Gigsy 4. Shmikes 5. Keane
If Medal Winning then
1. Cantona 2. Scholes 3. Bergkamp 4. Viera 5. Drogba
Ronaldo, Rooney , Rio/Vida , Le Tissier, Alan Shearer ,RVN ,VDS, Zola are others i'd like to add if its like Top 20 or so. There are still some it'd be very difficult even if its just taking from '92

Surprised Becks hasn't got a mention just for his set pieces. I've been thinking all morning and I can't decide. Its like asking who's the best guitarist - its impossible because of the different styles etc. No mention for Denis Irwin who was always an eight out of ten every week and scored some big goals too!

No way Hyppia gets in ahead of Rio.

Agree on Aguero. But might be worth holding fire for a year or two first. As I think like Silva, he may fancy an easier life in Spain if his injuries keep mounting up, as he always looks to be limping, even when not injured.

As much as I hate to say it I think Shearer has to be in that top 5, the man was prolific and one of the few players I was genuinely afraid of.
