Pele reveals admiration for Manchester United legend Scholes by Will Swanson. Published Tue 31 Jul 2012 16:30.
Pele has admitted he would have relished playing alongside Manchester United veteran Paul Scholes. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted this is likely to be the midfield maestro’s final season. Scholes came out of retirement in the middle of the last campaign and looked back to his best.
Brazilian legend Pele believes he would have added to his already considerable goal tally if he’d had the playmaker behind him. Pele said: "If he was playing with me, I would have scored so many more."

In fairness to the above though legends say similar about other players.
Alessandro Del Piero: "Only two players made me cry when watching football, one was Diego Maradona and the other Ryan Giggs."
Zinedine Zidane: "All of us at Juventus agreed Manchester United were the best side we met in the Champions League.
"Giggs is truly world class."
Johan Cruyff: "Eric Cantona is a great player, but he's not as good as Ryan Giggs."
Marc Overmars: "Ryan Giggs is fast, skillfull and sharp.
"With Luis Figo, he is the most fantastic winger I have ever seen in my life."

Scholes Giggs Ronaldo Keane Cantona
Henry Shearer Bergkamp Vieira Lampard

Giggs, Scholes, Big Peter, Eric Keane Love Ronaldo, but our main period of dominance, when we got back to where we belong, those guys did more for me. Ronaldo by far the most exciting but I just can't fit him in over those guys. Henry, Bergkamp, Ashley Cole (controversial maybe, and not in any order, but he was a consistent fucker) Okocha wanchope got bored with the last 2 oh, and Rebrov

just wondering if it's just me, but i don't get all this "thierry henry: one of the worlds best ever" stuff.
i wouldn't have him in any of my "top 5" lists from the PL era.
notice a lot here have henry in, but i'd throw bergkamp in ahead of him any day

I always had (still have) a thing about those talented playmaker forwards, loved Baggio when I was younger, as well as Scifo and Hagi (and obviously Maradona but he goes without saying), Futre and Mancini too (twat but a wonderful player). Rui Costa I liked at Fiorentina. Then onto our legends Cantona, Sheringham, Scholes (a midfielder I know but he played like a number 10, getting forward and scoring, controlling play). Bergkamp fitted in with them, couldn't help but admire him greatly. His form in the 97-98 double season, leading up to Christmas anyway, was some of the best I've ever seen in this country, he was playing unreal football week in week out.

I loved watching Bergkamp playing. He never seemed to get the accolades he deserved and I prefered him too Henry anyday. And too think that guy would never fly after an incident when he was in a plane that scared the living daylights out of him and whenever Arsenal played away in Europe he would make his own way across by car or train. Sometimes he would head off 7-8 hours before the official Arsenal team left to go by plane.

Scholes Ronaldo Giggs Henry Beckham.
Order of players I enjoyed watching the most. I think Beckham has snook in purely because I 're watched his goals for United the other day, he never scored an average or shit goal. Every goal was stunning.
