I'm not sure why people are saying that Sanchez's pen was so amazing, he tried the panenka and just about got it off the floor I didn't say Sanchez's penalty was amazing; I called it an attempted panenka that still went in, saying it was madness, as in, how fucking crazy is it that he tried a panenka and fucked it up and still scored the winner? The first penalty (from Fernades) was amazing, though, and the 2nd and 3rd were pretty damn good too.

C'mon, they lost a final in extra time and another on penalties. I didn't say they were bad stew . I said they were chokers . The game against Germany should have been won but Higuain was rubbish . yet again. They've got Di Maria , Messi, Aguero , Lavezzi, Tevez, Higuain , Pastore in their attack positions . mind blowing how they couldn't put a goal past Chile . My point was- they've lost 2 finals in 2 years by the very finest of margins. How many times did Germany lose to Spain before winning the World Cup? And if that donkey Higuain could do his job they've have won on Saturday night.

With finishing like that, we should have just stuck with Falcao.

It was on the slide and he basically had to hit it at 90 degrees and have it spin into the net in about a split second. Rooney, RVP and Fallcao wouldn't even have got a foot on the ball.

Can't think of any. Especially not in big games. Cantona against Leeds? Still was nowhere near as tight.

I'd still have Higuain over Cavani anyday. Didn't see the miss but theres no denying he's a quality striker.

This is how a top striker wins a major tournament:

Who has ever in the history of football practised a sliding shot. It doesn't happen. You can't even till if the ball has reached his foot from that angle.

BTW, I didn’t say it was an easy chance but it’s one that the very top drawer strikers score from. Or at least hit the target as Bestie said. If the keeper gets across and saves it so be it.
I’ve always thought there was a touch of the Andy/Andrew Coles about Higuain. Very good player but not one you’d gamble your life on with a finish, like say Ruud or Shearer (prick that he was). Cole, like Higuain was capable of scoring worldies and then missing sitters in the same game. Same 15 minutes actually. And before someone ‘stats’ me, I know exactly how many goals scored in his career. I also spent a lot of time watching him and believe me, he should have scored a hell of a lot more, particularly when playing for Utd.
