Glad for him that he'll get to play more regularly. A year and a half ago, who would've thought that Schniderlin's and Schweinsteiger's careers here will end so quickly and like this? I genuinely felt that summer that we sorted out our midfield.

Outstanding. Maybe people will stop whinging about him not playing now. Glorious player in his prime but far past it now. Been little more than a feel-good 'we have a genuine legend of the game' ornament overall. Compare his contributions to Ibrahimovic and you should get on board with his (and his huge wages) going to Chicago quite quickly

Even more so,considering that Moyes's greatest bit of business is still here & his current form being described as 'incredible' by Jose.

Es ist besser, geliebt zu haben und verloren zu haben, als nie in al.
Cheers Basti, seeing him in the shirt was fantastic, even if it didn't work out.
Probably came too late, but it's doubtful he'd have left Bayern earlier or gone anywhere else.

What an odd thing to say.

Would still prefer this "past it" player to some of the current shite we've got. One particular lanky, useless, big wig cunt.
Glad he's gone though, not because I wanted him gone but for his own benefit. He wasn't getting games so was unfair to just put him to one side. Never had the impact we'd hoped he would but nonetheless still a star of a player and a true gent. Never saw him moan or complain either. Class on and off the pitch.

People on Twitter saying 'thanks for everything you did for us'
Yeah mate. Thanks for earning a fucking wedge and pissing off to LA to watch your mrs play tennis instead of getting fit to play football.

Signed too late, a shame it didn't work out, I still have a lot of time for Basti, next in line is fatty bum bum, I mean our United legend.

Some players aren't all about money, they love the football as well. The guy oozes class on and off the pitch. Sadly signed him a bit too late in his career but he still had a few good performances. Dec 2015 against the vermin will do me. Regardless of when he was on top of his game he put in the effort when he did play and for that and many other reasons he gets my respect. Good luck to the guy.

Just one of the increasing number of signings that didn't materialize as expected. Also done a bit too late. Good luck to him
