Hardly the biggest surprise. Don't have a strong opinion on him either way now to be honest. Clearly a very nice bloke and was once a wonderful player but it just didn't work out here, think he's been a little unlucky but there's also no doubt he's not as good as he once was.
Wish him the best but we've got more important things to focus on.

Actually makes no sense at all,if his contract is being paid up,why not keep him around, rather than paying him the same amount to fuck off & play elsewhere.

Good player in his day, thought he did alright in the couple of appearances he made this season, but not overly arsed about him going. To be honest, I think people just liked singing his song.

With all the games we still have to play and the potential for an injury / suspension crisis I think its a bad move, Jose could regret this one.

I think people just liked singing his song. That's why we need Falcao back

Said the right things but rarely translated into actual effort. Shows how fickle fans are though. Still love the man and yet boo Fellaini....

Fellaini has done nothing to be booed by the fans, its fucking ridiculous. I'm not a fan of him but in his last outings he clearly showed how good and effective he can actually be. Sorry offtopic, back to basti.love the guy, great pro,i hope he'll do well in the states.too bad it didnt work out for him at united

I wish basti luck but I don't feel sorry for him. Had a great career and will probably do well in the MLS.

We've been through this. Fellaini gets stick as much for what - and who - he represents.
Schweinsteiger's goodwill I think comes because his signing was a reminder/fantasy of what might have been. If we had got him five years earlier ...

I think bastian could still be playing top football over here for a year or two.if the mls is what he wants than so be it but i would have liked to see him still playing in a good european team

No he couldn't. He's blowing out his arse after a few seconds of jogging around. And that was with pretty much zero game time and plenty of training under his belt. Compare and contrast with Valencias performance against Boro despite all the games he has played recently.
It says a lot that the only team interested in him was the US equivalent of Sunderland.

Sorry, but all the training in the world doesn't make you match fit. I firmly believe if he was playing regularly he would be outstanding with Pogba and Herrera in midfield. He would bring the best out in Pogba for sure.

That's why he barely got any game time. Christ, he was carrying more timber than rooney ffs. After his missus retired he looks like he swapped flying for eating. Or just sitting on his arse.

Suprised he's gone to Chicago rather LA Galaxy or whatever Kaka's team is called, so he'd be closer to the warm weather, more 'celebs' and his Mrs.
