Ed Woodward - During Moyes's tenure I thought he is hopeless but he proved me wrong. Latest is Martial, thought he was a panic buy and too much money for a 19 year old. Happy that I was wrong on both occasions. Can we move the bolded bit to the 'proven right' thread please? That is mentioned in a different context mate  I posted about his transfer dealings, which was OK-ish. |

I love this thread, it's pretty funny to read how far back some of you guys go..
I was all for Kagawa- I even got his name on the jersey (as a 30yr old man... ahem). Still gutted he left actually, but he was one of the casualties once Sir Alex left.
I was also all in on Anderson... I still remember when he scored his first goal, that side footer from outside the box and thinking YES FINALLY HE CAN MAKE IT, only to then promptly get injured. United just doesn't have good luck with Brazilians (including the da Silvas). fingers crossed with Pereira.
I remember thinking Tevez really loved the club, and would have accepted less than the 25million to stay. lol.

- Didn't think Brian MCclair could put up more than 10 goals a year south of the border.
- I thought Veron would win us another Champs Lg
- In 2005 I thought Fergie had stayed in the job too long.
- Didn't think Ronaldo had enough about him to make it in the Prem.
- Macheda......
- I thought we overpaid for Rio at the time. - I thought that Rooney still had a 20 plus goals season in him

I've never liked the mocking Lingard got from some fans, not necessarily on here but I feel more comfortable with him as a squad player rather than a starter. He shouldn't be starting ahead of Martial imo. He also doesn't strike me as becoming a mard arse if he is on the bench. I get a good vibe from him and he does pick his moments to score good goals. |
